  • Quick composite retouching session to celebrate the return of college football. How did you spend your Gameday?? Big shoutout to ‪@Jamesmatthews‬ for the inspiration - gotta a long way to go to match his "Color grade and Chill series" though!

    So this was something a little different but a lot of fun to make. It was a raw retouching session on a computer I don't usually work on so excuse the clunkiness and I included the steps where things didn't go right just to show I'm often trying different things to see what does and doesn't work(stadium sign removal!). Let me know if y'all like this sort of thing and I can see about rigging three cameras and a screen record again! 🤣

      Hey James,
      Great video. The "clunkiness" is great also as it shows how to resolve issues that you run into and fix as you go. Showing the errors are more valuable than showing the finish. Great job and I was certainly interested in your approach. Love the Color Balance tool you used to tone down the reds. I wish Capture One had some of photoshops color tools also. Looking forward to more of these with "Directors notes". LOL

    I have a wacom tablet but I could never replace my mouse. Glad to see I'm not the only one to use it in this way.

    James - just stumbled onto your channel and love the content you have here. Quite inspiring to see the behind the scenes come to life with the finished images.

    I really identify with your down to earth approach to the work. I loved this video and would like to suggest the addition of a before and after shot at the conclusion when you do something
    like this. Keep up the inspirational work!

    James, I'm new to photography... I just learned that there is a service of retouchers that photographers pay anywhere from 5$ to hundreds of dollars. I didn't even know that existed. What is the reasoning as to why sometimes photographers hire the service and sometimes do it themselves.

    • @QuantzPhoto
      @QuantzPhoto  Před 3 lety

      Probably when they don't have time to do it themselves and most of those services are for doing selections/cutouts.

    From where do you get the stadium backgrounds? I've found a few online but they look totally fake

      Hey J, I'm always shooting plates whenever I'm in a stadium.
