  • My review of "Camp Hatteras Campground" in Rodanthe, in the Outer Banks of NC. South of Nags Head and Kity Hawn, North of Waves and Hatteras, is this gem of a campground.
No lie, probably our favorite campground of all time. It has everything!
It really was one of the best family vacations we have had, ranking at or above Disney's Ft. Wilderness.
From Boogie Boarding in the ocean to paddle boarding and snorkeling on the sound,
From Kitty Hawk and the Wright Brothers Memorial to Jockey’s Ridge,
Sunrise on the beach and sunset over the sound,
From the Hatteras Lighthouse to the Camp Hatteras amenities………
This place is a fantastic place to camp in the Outer Banks!

Last week was our first time at this campground. Everything was great except for ignorant dog owners that think leash laws are not for them, If you have a small dog, keep it close to you.

Informative. Thank you. Just one thing...
    It's pronounced "Row-DANTH". Only 2 syllables, not 3. The E is silent.
Row-DAN-thee is wrong. Wrong pronunciation was likely started by a Millennial. They don't care at all about correct spelling or correct pronunciation of anything. FYI.

I was wondering. I have heard it both ways. I am a NC native (born near Boone) and grew up there, and I have always heard it both ways, and didn't know the correct pronunciation.
