Avishek Biswas, hailing from Khulna, has established himself as a prominent flautist under the guidance of his mentor, Guru Nikhil Krishna Majumder. He is an enlisted artiste at Bangladesh Betar, Khulna. He received the prestigious Acharya Jaganananda Award for his exceptional flute performances and has actively participated in various national and international music festivals, including the National Instrumental Music Festival and the Folk Music Festival. He is currently serving as an instrumentalist at Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy.

The event commenced at 6:30pm with a captivating rendition of raga Yaman by Avishek Biswas on flute, setting a serene atmosphere for the audience. A judicious tabla accompaniment by Sabuj Ahmed added great depth to the memorable recital.

Praner Khela is a regular monthly musical soiree featuring a selected duo. The programme was first held in December 2007 and has since then, brought many talented performers and their music closer to the audience. The event usually pairs artists of comparable repute singing in different genres, or a younger artist with an established name in the music industry. The platform is also used to showcase emerging singers, especially Bengal Bikash talents. The vintage ‘Baithaki’ style of the arrangement warrants an instinctive rapport between the performer and the listener. As with all other events, Praner Khela is free for the public.
