  • www.javelin-tech.com/3d/peopl... During this on-demand webinar, Alin Vargatu and Jamie Hill share the 3DEXPERIENCE World presentation (Interface in Your Face - the 2020 Edition) with the SOLIDWORKS community, in an online live training format. You will get to sample the first lesson of Javelin’s Advanced Update training course. You to learn and master the most efficient workflow for “telling” #SOLIDWORKS what to do. Your mouse movement will be reduced by 75%, but more importantly your eyes will stay focused on the model, allowing you to concentrate on design and “stay in the flow”.

A wonderful insight to truly become more effective and effective.. I stepped away from cad for 10 years and now getting back into it again. This is exactly what I was seeing too. So I’m actively looking for ways to embrace the new practices. I will need to see what you have done more recently..

this is possibly one of the greatest videos for people who are trying to get serious on reducing their design time. Love it :)

42:48 Kinda weird that creating a speedpak doesn't assume that you want to use it as well.

I am a beginner SW user (~2yrs experience) and tried the first exercise. Would it not be better to have the holes and square cutout included in the Boss-Extrude1 sketch?

I suppose it's a little subjective to what you value, but one reason you wouldn't want to do that is because it becomes harder to tell how to modify it at a glance. Especially when the model is complex with many features.
If it were a race though it would probably be faster to do it all in 1 sketch. Also, I would guess that having less features has a little better performance.

API is answer to time saving commands. Only shortcuts and context sensitive API commands
