Oscar, for those who play, respect, and love the album format, those songs are never forgotten. I am 60, and I have been listening to full albums since 1976. I discovered HammerFall in the ‘90s, and I always play the full albums. Keep writing!!!
OSCAR DRONJAK is such a fantastic man! A true enthusiast of pure heavy metal, video games...etc It's nice to see that there are still such authentic people! Thank you for this superb interview!😊😊
Within the last two weeks I found out about Hammer Fall , I then immediately followed them on Spotify and for the last several days have been listening to every album non stop...so so so good. My only disappointment is that I didn't start listening to them sooner. 🤘
Oh maaaan, i listened to Renegade so much back in the day! Together with Edguy they were really flying the flag of metal at the end of the 90ies. Let the hammer fall!!
In a days of my youth i used to listen "At the end of the rainbow" on repeat for 24/7. And then get into their other stuff. This band is a legend. Love them.
Would never have thought they have 13 albums by now. The two quick high notes in "where the dragon lies bleeding" are the best thing in all heavy metal.
Saw these guys for the first time last summer when they opened for Helloween at the Filmore in Minne... 55 been going to shows for 40 years, best show I ever been to hands down...
Man tackar för ett kul fika prat. kul att hör lite från Oskar och blev glad för några år sedan när jag hörde att Pontus började med er. helt rätt person för ett cool band. Lev Väl. Pinge
I may not be a big HammerFall fan so much anymore but I can't deny their impact they had in my life. They put Euro Power Metal & just great Nordic Metal in general on my radar with "Hearts on Fire" music video back in the day.
I actually got into music because of Renegade. I was 6 when it came out and i saw the video on grynets show (swedish kids show) and got hooked. Still one of my favorite albums and bands 24 years later.
I still listen to full albums as well. The album is a means of organizing a group of songs that all share some sonic similarity, whether due to being recorded with the same equipment or settings, composed around the same time, or with the same production techniques. As such, albums are still useful for anyone who likes one song and wants to hear more like it. One can usually hear similar songs on the same album. One song will give me a taste of an artist. But if I find a band I like, I'll want to know their music on a deeper level than just what one song can allow. That's why albums have value. They are a sufficiently long sample of an artist to get a sense of what they are like.
Good interview, Excellent band. Glory to the Brave was my first CD by them. Was a nice change from grunge that took over everything where I lived in the 90s.
Hammerfall are legends. Renegade was my first metal album. When I was 12 or 13 I got the opportunity to listen to the first minute of 'Templars of Steel' in a record store, and right there I became a metal head. While I don't listen much to Hammerfall today, they'll always have a special place in my heart.
HAMMERFALL Is One of the Most Honest, True, Epic, & Definitely Awesome Power Metal Acts of All Time, & Favorite of mine since the Release of Glory to The Brave . . . Avenge The Fallen is Fantastic ! ! ! ☀️☄️❤️🔥⚔️🌙
I love that bands still write albums! I never quit listening to albums. I skip a song from times to time, but it’s so deep in my brain, that it always feels weird, if the “wrong” song follows a song I love on playlists etc.
Been a fan of Hammerfall since 2008 and will be seeing them when they come to my hometown next year🤙🤘 My music range changed littarely once I heard Hammerfall as Oscar pointed out, thanks guys👍
Ahh I remember when Legacy Of Kings dropped in 98 when I was 13 years old. My mind was blowned and I fell in love with the powermetal genre. Went from Metallica and Judas Priest to bands like Edguy, Stratovarius, Blind Guardian, Gamma Ray and so on :)
My main thoughts when I was listening to new album were that the hammerfall is a reliable band. I know what I can expect from them (more less) and they will deliver. I am glad that it is consistent with what Oscar says :) thank you kings for your music!
They opened for Dio at the Chicago HOB too, I went for Hammerfall only, and stayed for Dio and was so glad I did. Was a great night of metal in Chicago
Love Hammerfall saw them back in 2018 down in Louisville KY. My best friend's son was on his shoulders and he gave him a pick. I had it for six years because it got lost in my car. Finders keepers but I did give it back sadly 😂
Renagade and Crimson Thunder are special albums, really top class heavy speed metal. They are still good but not even close how they were with Stefan. After his departure they are just not on a same level...
Instant click - Hammerfall are absolute LEGENDS! 🤘
True
Gamma ray, Blind Guardian, Hammerfall and Stratovarius took the torch and kept the heavy metal alive for me in the 90's!
Oh yeah, Gamma Ray & Stratovarius... holy hell
Absolutely yes
*speed/power metal
And Induction is now picking up that torch 😃
@@WRXkrass Kamelot, Edguy, Iced Earth, Primal Fear also, and new albums from Helloween, Grave Digger.

It's great listening to two Targaryens talking about metal 🐲🎸🎶

Don't be sorry! You are experiencing the vibes we felt 30 years ago. The good music is here to stay! ;-)
Two guests I would love to see on coffee with Ola.
Andy LaRocque
Mikael Akerfeldt
I second that!!!
Very cool hearing Oscar talk about Wolf Hoffmann being a guitar hero of his. Hail Hammerfall!!
Oh maaaan, i listened to Renegade so much back in the day! Together with Edguy they were really flying the flag of metal at the end of the 90ies.
Let the hammer fall!!
My favorite track of the new album is track nr 9 😂
Also worth mentioning, the bass tone on the album is SICK 🔥🤘🏽
Haven't listened to Hammerfall in like 15 years, but this was one of your best interviews. Oscar is a great guy!
Jesper Stromblad must be next!
Would be awesome

Legacy of Kings was my introduction to Power Metal. That album will always be special to me.

Renegade got me into metal as a 15 year old kid. Thanks for that Hammerfall!
"Coffee with Hammerfall" and Oscar proceeds to drink his glass of water at 28:40. Love it!
Hammerfall opened me up to so many awesome bands. Just made the station on Pandora, and let 'er rip.

HammerFall was my first concert in 2009 on their No Sacrifice, No Victory tour with Bullet and Sabaton. 🤟

Love Hammerfall! This was my World of Warcraft jam for over a decade.
I cherish the guitar pick I got from Oscar after their concert at Metalfest 2010.
Wow ..its Ola's older brother
Great ..... Hammerfall and Death in tour 1998
I love that bands still write albums! I never quit listening to albums. I skip a song from times to time, but it’s so deep in my brain, that it always feels weird, if the “wrong” song follows a song I love on playlists etc.
Oscar is a legend ❤
Had a great time seeing Hammerfall with Helloween on the NA tour! Great live show.
Thank you Ola for bringing power heavy metal legends for interviews! Rock n Rolf from Running Wild next?

Oscar is My inspiration to play guitar, i love his thick and heavy riffs, Such a great and talented guy! wish to meet him in real life
Just got to see Hammerfall for the first time at Milwaukee Metal Fest this year. They were awesome. Been a fan since 2001.
👍🏼

Great Interview! Oscar seems to be a very down to earth guy! I grew up listening to them and Hammerfall has a special place in my heart.
Saw Hammerfall in Puerto Rico in the Legacy of Kings tour
Renegade changed my life for the better!! So good when it came out, still so good today!!
Everyone is always picking on "Gangland". Love that song.
Next up: Cognac with Dronjak
Saw Hammerfall with Helloween last year. Such a good show.
Cool interview! I remember emailing Oscar in 1997 when he had a Hotmail address. No answer yet though 😆
@@TheMack I did that too 🤣 asked for tabs, he replied that there were no tabs but that the songs were easy enough to figure out by ear 😅
@@plektrum85 hahaha! That's so cool! 😃
I was at the Toronto show last year when they opened for Helloween! Amazing show from both bands!

Mitt första metal band! Körslaget, 2008!

it would be great to see your guest to plug into some different amps and guitars and play their favourite riffs....
He looks just like an older version of Ola, uncanny!
OMG! LETS GO! :) Thank you for your hard work :)
What a Legend!
I was going to ask you when you were going to have Oscar on here. Love the dude!! These guys are legends.🙌🤘🤘

I saw them with EdGuy and Into Eternity back in the 2000's at the Chicago house of blues
They opened for Dio at the Chicago HOB too, I went for Hammerfall only, and stayed for Dio and was so glad I did. Was a great night of metal in Chicago
