We are in the 6th and final episode of Coimbatore series under Tamil Nadu Tourism Collobaration. In this episode you can enjoy Winner waterfalls and Top Slip.
Winner waterfalls is at a distance of 21 km from Pollachi, Athuparai Water Cascade is a scenic spot located at Athuparai near Pollachi, Tamil Nadu. Also known as Winner Fame Water Cascade, it is one of the popular places to visit near Coimbatore, and among the must include places in Pollachi Tour Packages.
Athuparai Water Cascade is formed over a check dam built on the Aliyar River. This place became famous because of the Tamil movie Winner as few scenes were shot here. The area is neat, clean, and less crowded. One can enjoy the greenery and the water flowing around, which looks beautiful. It is a serene place to spend time with family but doesn't go with too much expectation.
Visitors can sit on the rocks and enjoy the view and also water play at the river. But beware while bathing found snakes in water in the middle of rocks. When the water level is not high, one can walk through the crossover and reach the nearby farms where the river is calm and the water level is low. Post-monsoon is the best season to visit this place when the dam is full. The approach path is not developed & a bit messy. But you will enjoy the water area as that is very clean.
Topslip is located near Pollachi in the state of Tamil Nadu, India, at an altitude of 800 feet from the sea level on the Anamalai mountain range. It is a part of the protected Indira Gandhi Wildlife Sanctuary. Topslip is blessed with a gentle altitude, salubrius climate and a vareity of flora and fauna. Its picturesque location and fabulous scenery has made it a popular location for several movie sequences. It stands majestically with Green Spread Mountains and forest all around. It is a Project Elephant sanctuary and a Project Tiger sanctuary. The local administrative control is with the Forest Range Officer under supervision from the Wildlife Warden at Pollachi.
All visitors can enter by paying a nominal fee at sethumadai forest checkpost. Bikes are not allowed, visitors can only travel in four wheelers.
Our team explored Topslip and enjoyed the Jeep safari available. We got an opportunity to visit the elephant camp at Topslip and meet Chinna Thambi elephant. We also got an opportunity to see the food preparation for the elephants in the camp.
Tamil Nadu forest department provides different kinds of rooms and stay at Top slip. The most famous one is the Tree house. Tourist/Visitors can now book rooms online at www.atrpollachi.com
