  • We think the Goodland wood-fired hot tub will be the perfect addition to our wood-fired timber frame sauna. We plan to use it both as a hot tub and as a cold-plunge on sauna nights. In this video I'll cover the unboxing, setup and first use of the hot tub.

    You need to run a hot water like to a spigot that way you can fill with hot water and expedite the heating

    Maybe cool to add a couple electric water jets to circulate the water to the furnace area and maybe a a filtration system to help from cleaning all the tub all the time .

    Looks amazing, how often and easy is it to clean all the ash out?

      I clean out the ash before each use. Goodland sells a well-designed ash scoop that makes it very easy. A 2-minute job.

    Great video. Just curious if you had to reinforce your deck from the weight of it filled with water?

      No, mostly because the tub sits directly on the main beam and over a supporting post. If I had it to do over again, I'd probably pour a larger concrete footing under that post to be safe (it currently sits on a 12" concrete sonotube, 4' deep).

    Would you mind letting me know how tall you are? My husbands 6’3” so I’m wondering if he could fit comfortably.

    What are your impressions after using the Goodland hot tub for several months now? I'd love an update!

    • @SalemWoodworks
      @SalemWoodworks  Před rokem +4

      I did plan to do an update video after a full season so I can share thoughts on things like managing freezing Temps in winter. The spoiler is that we love the tub and use it more, and in more ways, than we thought we would. We use it as a hot tub, as a cold plunge between sessions in our wood fired sauna and even as a quick cool off on hot summer days (think adult version of the blow up kiddie pool).

      @@SalemWoodworksI’d be interested in an update video as well. How often do you clean it or change water? Is the shape ok for two people? Etc…

    • @SalemWoodworks
      @SalemWoodworks  Před rokem

      @@atomicsmith about once a week in summer weather, less often once it gets cold. It's perfect for two, sitting facing each other.
