Q: Can I send you a deck to check out?
A: Only patrons can send me decks and expect a reply, because I get too many of these requests to manage. Consider joining the discord (links above) and posting your decks in the #decks channel for community feedback.
Q: Why didn’t you play this certain card I would play?
A: Because I don’t think it is as good as every other card in the deck.
Q: Why did you make that play at time stamp XX:XX?
A: I usually talk through my plays, so watch again and see if I mention it (I often do, sometimes during the turn after the play to keep the video moving). If I don’t mention it at all, I may have missed it. I miss plays several times a day, and so do other players.
Q: How can I support the channel?
A: Watching the videos IS supporting the channel. There are many options above if you have extra money and would like to help more. I appreciate it, I have a lot of bills and life stuff to manage, but it is not required. Take care of yourself first, watch the videos, then give other financial support if you really want to.
Q: Will you play janky deck xyz?
A: My mission is to show people decks that they can play often, win games with, and feel successful with. I don’t enjoy decks that strive to achieve an interaction but rarely win (aka, janky decks). There are many successful jank players on CZcams, and you should check out their channels. I am competitive, I like winning, and I like helping others win and feel successful. That is why you won’t see janky combo decks on the channel very often.
Q: Do you show all your games, or do you edit out your losses?
A: I don’t show all my games. The video is usually the best moments of between one and three hours of recording. I remove games for a number of reasons, both wins and losses. Some games are slow, some aren’t competitive because of lands, some are the same matchup over and over. More losses get cut out than wins because winning is more fun for me, which makes for better content for most viewers. It can be disappointing for those who want to see me lose (yes, people watch just to see me lose, I see you!).
Q: If you edit out some of your losses, how do I know if a deck is good and worth crafting?
A: If you watch the entire video, I always give my honest opinion about the deck at the end. As always, you are welcome to draw your own conclusions. My goal is to show off a variety of decks that can get a player with skill and conviction into Mythic, and I want them to have fun doing it. I almost never show a video of a deck that I don’t believe in, and if I don’t like a deck after playing it, I guarantee you will know about it if you watch the whole video and listen to what I have to say.

At 44:05 I could feel in my bones CGB's disappointment. Probably one of the best games I've ever seen him do. Just expertly using the cards given, especially when the opponent just seems to have ever answer.

Hi everyone and a special THANK YOU to CovertGoBlue. Your suggestions on this video have really helped me work on a much better Giant deck than I the one I was attempting to pull off (BTW Giants of Old Norse/Scandinavian Mythology are a concept and archetype that I always loved, so being able to play with it in MTG is a huge perk). While I was watching this video I noticed that we came to a lot of similar conclusions and skepticisms. For example, the fact that almost all of your big Giant pay-off cards are almost always going to be answered with removal fairly easily, plus to actually be rewarding they need to stick in the field for at least a turn or two (which is highly unlikely). There are a lot of other arguements which I am not going to get into just now. I do want to mention though that the strategy with Cosima and Shark Typhoon is INGENIOUS! WELL DONE bro! Not only it rewards you in the long run, but, in the early game, a resolved Omenkeel can be so disruptive with its removal potential. Just yesterday I won 3 consecutive games at turn 3 and 4 because my oppponent surrendered to Omenkeel disruption! IT'S INSANE! Thanks again CovertGoBlue!
Maybe it's just a crazy idea of mine but...I'm pretty sure when players say they wanna see a giant deck, they mean with the new giants; this is basically Izzet control with Thryx LOL
You may not have noticed, but left of the "Keep" button there's actually a blue "Mulligan" button that'll get you a fresh seven of which you get to keep six. Seriously, the hands you keep.. I had a great time watching you dismember mono red and rogues though :D

Commenting less than five minutes into the video and not to immediately disagree but... Rakdos Giants is very juicy and entertaining. It’s just so nice to see Kroxa, Quakey, Stompy Boy and Mr Calamity all hanging out together at last!
Can't wait to try out a similar deck, but with Surtland Elementalist (the 8/8 Giant Wizard from the Kaldheim theme booster) as the top end, due to his ability to basically cast a high-end sorcery as if it had Flash (and for zero mana cost), when on the attack.

CGB's Giant Tribal recipe:
- 6 giant creatures vs 10 non-giant creatures
- No giants from Kaldheim
- Best giant from Kaldheim is a freaking land
- Best giant tribal card is a sorcery that draws cards
Conclusion: Did not expect anything different from CGB. 9/10 (No Yorion automatically loses a point)
Biggest mistake was taking a mid-range--aggro archetype and trying to force it to be control.

Giants are a great tribe for draft. Especially when combined with changeling.

13:45--I don't think rogues even really need anything from the new set. It's possible I'm missing something, but the only cards I've even considered using are Cosima, and Crippling Fear as a possible sideboard option. Cosima is definitely good but my initial thought is that it isn't worth dropping Lurrus as a companion, and then whether or not Crippling Fear is worthwhile mostly depends on how the meta develops I think.

I brewed a similar version w/ Jeskai. So nice. Fair deck most of the time too, but even the games I lost were quite fun.

Had a game just like that against rogues yesterday, where they had my library down to below 3 but I could win the next turn, they just needed to NOT topdeck a land with their crab on the field...they topdeck a land lmao

I've had some good play with mono-red giants.
Currently chipping away at a sealed event with an awkward Mardu pile that is mostly black white control with some red giant splash. Opponents so far have had a hard time dealing with the giant that does damage while in the graveyard. Haven't lost a game yet!
Quakebringer is so powerful in limited
If you can cast the spell side of a Zendikar MDF land, then that actually sounds like a bug. You should be able to play the land side but not the spell side.
Omenkeel rulings:
If an effect allows you to play a land or cast a spell from among a group of cards, you may play or cast a modal double-faced card with any face that fits the criteria of that effect.
To determine whether it is legal to play a modal double-faced card, consider only the characteristics of the face you’re playing and ignore the other face’s characteristics.
I think what he meant to say was that you can play the land eventhough it's on the back face.

The key there is being able to "cast" or "play" the card, which lets you choose; if it just put them into play there wouldn't be the choice to play a backside.

No these are the theme booster exclusives I think. You'll have to craft those

Well I made a temur giant's and been successful with it.
But I didn't insert the calamity bearer and only 2 quakers.

I think changeling is one way to offset expensive tribals in this set

In historic you have enough in jeskai colors. 4x of the giant wrath and ALOT of game ending fat giants (look to red 4 and 5 drops. These dudes will close games out in some crazy ways). We run 8 wraths and the only creature who can die is bonecrusher to clarion. We don't run the 5 cost saga because its trash honestly. The white giant wrath is just better because its a creatue. We do use the 2 drop saga. Its what allows for some explosive plays. Reducing a giants cost by 2 on its third tick while gaining value on the other ticks. We counter creature decks and close out games fast in midrange so most control match ups aren't a auto loss. Hella fun in historic. Def not a try hard deck but I mean it worked fine. I'd tested in diamond best of 1 for like 6 games so I'm no expert.
I already blew my wild cards on day one because I wanted giants to be good so bad. I had some of the most tilting losses time after time after time I literally slammed my laptop shut and haven’t played for 3 days now. It’s like I’m getting bad luck how you are but just so often.

What we want is a good grixis giants. Cause my giant deck got stuck in gold had to switch up to my grixis control to climb almost at mythic now 99% winrate so far. Only loss was to sultai yorion but I got mana flooded

Cyclone summoner is pretty good in a ramp deck.
I used your original izzet giants you posted before Kaldheim released, and I beat 3 rogue mill decks. Mostly due to quakebringer. But I didn’t think it was bad. Giants just don’t excite me. I like wolves. I don’t think a Sarulf based deck is a good idea, much to my dismay.
Calamity bearer would have been a good card with a few more giants tossed in there. Tectonic and quakebringer
I feel like the giants were designed for limited. They're no good for constructed, but man are they splashy in limited. Cyclone Summoner will make players scoop.
CGB: Could you please create a deck with Tibalt's Trickery? I was faced with an Opponent who did a turn 3 Ugin with it and smashed me. I would like to know whether my Opponent only got lucky or whether you can construct the deck so that this is a regular occurance. Thank you.
It's easy. Play 4x stonecoil serpent, 4x tibalts trickery and 4x ugin. Add mountains and hope you get lucky. It's like treasure hunt decks but worse
Izzetn't this just new Izzet control? But with giants? Invasion of the giants could be good here, providing card selection, then if you have a bonecrusher a bonus stomp, then 1 mana bonecrusher. Squash could be what has to go.
Enigmatic etrata is a clear-cut name, it tells you you'll be playing enigmatic incarnation and etrata the silencer. Still waiting for a good enchantment to sac to incarnation, though, Wizards.
How do you get the modern Horizons snow lands?

I think many players, who dont invest to much money into MTGA are building up there cards lists via Drafting, on that hand its understandable, that you don`t meet any new decks as well.
