Book referred in the video 1. Thinking in systems: A primer by Donella Meadows 2. Discourses of Epictetus 3. Great Mental Model by Shane Parrish 4. Evolutionary Psychology by David M. Buss Thanks for this valuable info.
How about making a spreadsheet with all the good books per discipline ? I would be higly interested in such content. Disciplines would be structured in levels, with references to books to learn about them. For example: Level 0: how to learn efficiently (cause in my opinion its useless to start if you don't know how to store this data properly in your brain) Level 1: reasoning, critical thinking, ... (all abstract fundamental concepts applied on every discipline) Level 2: economics, physics, chemistry, IT, ... Level 3: secondary disciplines, as you stated, oncology, virology, etc Basically a roadmap available to everyone, what do you think about that?
Great comment! I started to do it for myself but not in the way that you just did it, and I think it a good way to do it too. Start with the most important things that can influence a lot of other things.
Im just impressed the way you have video created. You are using no script / cuts just pure thinking and self thoughts and still like I wanna learn the way you think about all these things that you come up with and can make a 50 minutes long video
Hey Charlie, very informatve video! There are many people out there that study many things because they want to get smart. The problem is that they don't really grasp the concept they have studied. They end up with a false perception of how knowledgeable they are in certain subject matters and they end up failing at what they're trying to do. They end up at square one again. Keep uploading more YT content Charlie. Your viewers appreciate you!🎉😊😊

Recapitulating what you said about the law of diminishing returns inside of economics. Don't you think that trying to achieve excellence in a broad selection of specialized disciplines will convey into diminishing returns at a certain point? Probably the amount of information we can actually retain from different disciplines is limited up to a certain point, perhaps up to the degree at which we can apply that information.
Yoh Charlie make a video on how to choose what business to start, whether to follow your passion, how to actually take action on what business you choose to start, your thoughts on becoming a CZcamsr like Hamza

I was looking to find that book, and I can't find Evolutionary biology by dr david bus anywhere. the only book from him I could find is Evolutionary Psychology: The New Science of the Mind. Mabye that is what you meant? If not the only other book I found that even meets this criteria is Evolution by Douglas J. Futuyma. I hope this isn't too much to ask but mabye give a link to where we could buy this book? Mabye you could make a spreadsheet with all of the disciplines and the books for them so people can go down the list reading book after book.
Bro i appreciate you and your content i have a self-improvement channel as well in Iran , i would love to have a chat with you. I am content specialist and i have few ideas for you.
I see this information coming from a young lad, but the information is as if it is coming from someone who has nearly lived their full lifetime. Amazing
I think practically, theres a limit to the amount of information we retain, and that without application our brain just dumps out a lot of information. That's why students forget most of the material after a midterm. Do you have any advice to retain the important bits? Mind map or something? Relearning multiple times?
Apply and keep applying doing so you will automatically only retain the most useful information as in the video his main focus is on applying the disciplines to business in general. And relearn the most important things.
You don't need to remember. Just like you don't remember how and when you learnt to write yet you still know how to write. Of course, not everything is like that but you can retain the core of something without remembering the thing itself. Like how people behave a certain way without knowing how or why they came to behave like that.
