Dvorak wäre begeistert gewesen. Die Dynamik! Zauberhafte Piani, Crescendi, Forti, alles, wie in den Noten vorgegeben. Schön, anrührend gesungen. Vielen, vielen Dank für den Genuss.
Une oeuvre sublime....qui frise la perfection céleste... à écouter jusqu'au bout et attentivement chaque partie de cette messe....Le Gloria surtout. Je ne me lasse d'écouter cette messe inspirée..Dvorak est très inspiré pour la musique sacrée...

I´m persuated this is absolutely the greatest reading and performance of Dvorak´s Mass op. 86 ! I congratulate you Mr. Baudo, the soloists, all members of this Orchestra and for sure this brilliant Choir ! For the first time since many years I do appreciate so deeply every single moment of this, from the very start until the last minute ! Just unique ! Just great !

The mass I loved the most To sing as bass
Absolutely brilliant! I have listened to this over 20 times and I'm still amazed at the quality/interpretation of this Dvorak mass. We are currently singing this with the Bay Area Chorus of Greater Houston, only with organ. If we could only be as good!

yup! and it's funny you should mention that word. Dvorak is My One and Only Soulmate Forevermore, and he was Lois Lane/Superwoman from the animated film, All-Star Superman!!! and the woman, Christina Hendricks who played Lois Lane in this film, is also My One and Only Soulmate Forevermore, just in a different body (our souls can be split into and exist in multiple bodies). :3 :) :D !!!
This is my first acquaintance with this piece. I have recently discovered and absolutely fallen in love with Dvorak's "Requiem" and "Stabat Mater"; two unbelievable pieces! :-) This "Mass in D Major" is equally as beautiful in its more simple, humble form. As I am following along with the score while listening, I can't help but think that the alto soloist in this performance sounds off, to my ears, and the conductor's cut-offs are somewhat unclear at times, though who am I to criticize? :-) I have yet to discover other interpretations of this outstanding piece, but this one, being my first, is still a wonderful interpretation. Thank you for posting.

Pustil jsem si jen Agnus Dei a hle- altové solo v 10. taktu zpívá jednu notu zcela jinak než je v partituře - pozor! Tak snad tam těch chyb není více.
Am 28.06.2015 singen wir diese wunderschöne Messe in der Jesuitenkirche (Dr.-Ignaz-Seipel Platz, 1. Bezirk) in Wien. Das künstlerische Niveau unserer Aufführungen ist sehr hoch und wir werden dabei nur von professionellen (bezahlten) Orchestermusikern/Solisten unterstützt!

At the beginning... what the hell is up with the tenor and bass? Please go with the tempo, stop rushing.
you were lulled by the slow tempo of the mezzo.....the bass is obviously unimpressed with the mezzo as you can see later when she sings solo while he reacts subtly.....

Das ist ein gut gelungenes Konzert bis auf das der Dirigent ziemlich schlecht ist. Ich weiß, dass die Messe nicht leicht zu dirigieren ist aber er sollte in der Lage sein seine Schläge pünktlich zu geben

I don't think a mass of romantic period shall be sung in the same way as a romantic opera. I really don't like S-A-T soloists and their performance. Hardly good for drama, not for church music - this is lack of a basic understanding of a performed piece. As regards Dvorak's church music, I think Manfred Honeck knows the right way. His way is something totally different from this theatrical declamation. Dvorak was no idiot, so his religiosity - as imprinted in thus piece - shall not be interpreted in a same way as a telenovela.
