  • Author Brian Zahnd gives a special sermon about his book "Sinners in the Hands of a Loving God"...a book that means a lot to Zootown Church. He proclaimed the extremely good news: God is like Jesus. God has always been like Jesus. There has never been a time when God wasn't like Jesus.

Brian is a voice the Western Church needs to desperately hear at this time.

One of the best theological books I’ve ever read. Really really recommend it to every Christian, or anyone with issues with problematic depictions of God.

I receive this message like "Apples of gold in settings of silver.." God help me, God have mercy on me. This is so subversive to our culture, and the world in which we currently exist. The world will hate me for clinging to this Word. Even so, "Let the Spirit and Bride say come Lord Jesus!

Sin is not "making God angry" but the misuse of our energies.

This is the good news that makes a skeptic think twice.

Maybe God is relating to Israel through Adam's choice, the tree etc. and that is how it works. Maybe that is why we needed the second Adam to take us back to what was meant to be.

This guy is horribly unkind to those he disagrees with on social media. Wish he would actually practice what he preaches.

Jesus, not Brian Zahnd, perfectly reveals God. Let us focus on Jesus. Let us be changed by Him and then reflect His beauty to others.

He's lying. Hell and Judgement are real. Jesus talked about this more than anyone. Trust Jesus died for your sins. Promise and gift of Heaven.

Helll in the Bible is GeHenna, aka the valley of Hinnom the place where the refuge dump was located outside of Jerusalem in 70 AD where they threw the dead bodies of the jews in the war with Rome, that was the judgement. In the Old Testament it was the place where they performed child sacrifice. Do yr research. A place called hell where people are thrown in the afterlife is all false teachings of man. The gospel is really good news! Look it up.

Were the apostles liars too? None preached on hell. The Nicene creed doesn’t mention it either. Christian Universalists believe in hell, but they believe that whatever it is, it is restorative and purifying, much like a harrowing experience like Ebenezer Scrooge, where one sees and feels the way they made others feel. They don’t believe it is of the devil, but of God. For the first 500 years of early Christianity, three schools of thought were common regarding hell. The minority view came from one school in Rome. Eternal conscious torment. The two more predominant stances were Universal reconciliation, and anihillationism. Jesus preached on Gehenna, using it as hyperbole for the suffering and destruction that would be visited upon the Jewish people who wanted to violently overthrow Rome. This happened 40 years later when they didn’t listen.
