Your "palace of imperfections" is a perfect, heartwarming representation of your journey so far on a long road to a life well lived. You're dad and I couldn't be more proud. You've got guts and with God you are unstoppable. It will only get better. Love you!
I am with you momma! ❤ Joy and hope for the future when special young people arrive.
Brooke, you and Dave are such blessed parents. God bless you all and Merry Christmas!
No regrets
Well put mom. Good job Mick
I like the way Dave narrates his content, but I think Mick writes better. (Reminds me of Anthony Bourdain.) It makes me proud when I see my kids excel. Your pride in Mick is well warranted.
Your destiny is being a story teller. Alaska was the vehicle. Keep making content.
You are an excellent storyteller..!
Right on....a book
🎄🎄Merry Christmas Mick & Everyone!! 🎄🎄🎄
The most powerful statement in this video Mick is "Be honest with yourself"!!!!
Good call, he is an amazing story teller and that is a very precious gift.
And an Artist, love your watercolors❣️
I'm a 70 some year old woman. You and I will never meet but I can't tell you how proud of you I am. Try to use the critical remarks to help you develop a thick skin (which one apparently needs to operate a CZcams channel). Also take courage to put one foot carefully in front of the other, from all the positive comments from people who are cheering you on. How many 18 year olds do you know who have accomplished what you have and who dream big dreams and follow through, mistakes and all, as you have? You're young. You're just starting out. And you're doing so with a bang. You're living your dreams out loud and sharing them. You're not afraid to learn from your mistakes. Had my life turned out differently I would have forged ahead and followed a similar dream for my own life. Never forget to give your day to God each morning and you'll be fine. It won't be perfect. Lots of days you'll land on your head. But you'll be fine. God bless you.
I'm a 57 year old master carpenter by trade and I think you did a fantastic job with your first build! The most important thing is that you've learned from your mistakes. Good luck in every future success.
Awesom cabin brother❤🎉
I think you did a fantastic job on your cabin too😊
Really? "Fantastic"? You don't think planning, focus, and timing could have made a HUGELY significant difference?

Beautifully written and narrated- stay real and raw. I'm 72 years old and your VOICE brings me excitement and hope for the younger generations. BRAVO I look forward to following your life.
There's a line in the book "The Outsiders", a book I love and always read with my students.
"Stay Golden Pony" ...
great book
66, and I re-read The Outsiders every once in a while. It applies to any age with an open mind. Thanks for reminding me it's time to read it again.
@@suzonlommel3737 Another one much like "The Outsiders" that my students and I actually read aloud was "Walk Two Moons". We read the these treasures aloud as a class so that every student could love them regardless of abilities. We took turns reading, no one was required to read, the only rule was everyone had a book open and followed to the best of their ability. If anyone stumbled or got stuck on a word it was fair game to help the reader by throwing out the word verbally. Check out Walk Two Moons if you liked The Outsiders! 😉
Ditto Andrea❤

Mad respect for your parents who, knowing the struggles and challenges you were working through, probably had to fight every fiber in their being to ignore the urge to come help and do, and show you how it's done and by doing so would have robbed you of the full experience of figuring things out for yourself
Hmmm, I guess I’ll be the only one to disagree. As a born again Christian I believe you cannot love a child too much. You can spoil them too much but love? Nope. Helping him in love and communicating that would have been a great help. At 18. He’s still a child. But that’s my humble opinion and someone who knows the dangers of the Alaskan wilderness. Ijs.
Mom and dad: WWJD? He would not leave an unprepared 18 year old out in the Fairbanks winter cold. No support from you? Yeah. Badly done mom and dad. He could have died trying to prove to you two heroes in his life trying to prove he could do it. SMH. 🙏🏼
Isn’t it wonderful that God gave all of us free will to do things differently. I pray I know my grown kids and grandkids enough to know when I should step in and when I should keep my “helping” nose out of their business and let them stand on decisions, choices and actions they have made. I am amazed at the way different families work and help each other. At 70 years old I can still learn a thing or two from channels like yours, not the physical work, I am happy where I am in life, but seeing you by yourself , or with your friends on sight seeing and doing trips. Now THAT is where I believe you are doing yourself a favor. That old saying “all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy” is pure truth! Take care my young friend. This old lady stands with you on every mistake made. Why? Because you name, claim and learn from those mistakes saying never again . I admire that.
I don't know about Dave, but Brooke made it pretty clear on her channel that they were respecting Mick's wishes. That he absolutely, categorically did not want their help, and wanted to do it with his own resources as much as possible. If it were me, I 100% would have taken my parents advice on something they're So incredibly, intimately familiar with! But I'm 40, not 18, and I'm pretty sure I didn't want anything else from them when I was that age either lol.
@@UntetheredBansheeof course ma’am, please let your 18 year old son advise you what is right for him. I humbly disagree with mom and dad. Give him some training for heaven sake! You set him up to fail. IMHO. YOUR bad not your son’s. He just wants his parents approval and love. Just so disappointed in mom and dad. Way badly done! He’s. EIGHTEEN!!! Whatever. Unsubscribing to fools.Even his friends dad knew better and offered him a heated home in Fairbanks Alaska in the winter! Yeesh!
@@albertarose1433 I assume you have intimate knowledge of the behind the scene's of this young man's life. If not, you are making unsubstantiated claims. Unless you have intimate insight into Mick's life and that of his circle, you couldn't possibly know what safety nets may or may not have been put in place for backup.
You may feel you are being humble, but the tone of your post suggests otherwise. I will concede that tone can get distorted in written words though.
As a Christian, it's important to handle condemnation carefully. A Christian will also tend to rely upon God instead of humans for wisdom, safety and guidance. If we didn't, every God fearing man and woman would never have pioneered and settled harsh lands like Alaska.
I would also point out that those who settled these lands did not have access to even a sliver of the technology we have today. That, in itself, provides a vast safety net.
I’m 73 and I envy your spirit, I enjoy your honesty and perseverance. And ignore the naysayers and keep moving forward.
You young man are an incredible storyteller, and I hope you write a book one day. You should be very proud of what you have accomplished in such a short time.
I would read it 😊
I agree!
I subbed before it even ended.
So refreshing to see deep profound thinking in a young person. ❤
Not so common anymore. 🤷
I was thinking this also. Or do voiceover work for extra income! Amazing storytelling voice
wait until you hear his dad tell a story
Did the same. Sub before it ended. Never happened before I think. Such a good story teller and so many wise words.
Mick I am 61 years old and totally adore you! I appreciate you being so vulnerable and raw when sharing your lifes journey with the whole world. That takes guts! You spent a lot of time talking about your mistakes but the only mistake I can see is paying any mind to the naysayers. You have a bigger bunch of folks out here cheering you on! Your display of courage integrity work ethic determination appreciation vison and wisdom are a joy to observe. Especially in the current condition of all the anger hate and strife on the planet today. Carry on Mick. I am confident you will not fail!
I'm so sorry to hear about Daniel and yet happy to hear he's ok. I hope you your family and all your friends enjoy your holiday season. I look forward to your return. All my best...
Im just a youngster 51 years old been around the world a few times seen some things done some things and I was going to try to say what you said but Im not good with words .
I'm the same way...
That was said perfectly!
Thanks Mick for keeping us updated. I am 68 yrs old and live in the country in Tn.,and love it. When i was 18 i was into drugs, alcohol and all that goes with it. About 15 yrs of it. The Lord delivered me from that lifestyle and am forever grateful to Him for that. As you go forward, be strong and of a good courage, especially when things do not go as planned. I am looking forward to the next year of my life and following yours also.
I am a retired high school guidance counselor, and I love that you have designed and built your own home right after high school. You set a goal and achieved it, the first of many. Best wishes to you on your journey, and I pray you find Jesus on the path that you choose.
So much wisdom from such a young man. Who woulda thunk such youth could summarize this 65 year old woman's retirement stagnation to a tee! You gave me things to think about! Thank you!
I agree. That comment he made about "sitting down in your chair in your 60s and never really getting out again" kinda hit home with me. Something else he said, which I'm going to make my new motto, "real living takes effort."
I don’t think taking a break is a downfall at all. I enjoy your adventures! Enjoy the holidays with your family!
I like how so many people try to be nicer to people who feel bad on the internet but how few people there are doing that. My experience is that in real life that is very rare but some people just draw a lot of kind people. Thank you for saying that to him.
I love you and your family. I find you quite inspiring. I am 81 and have been told over and over not to travel for a year by car. My health is good. I do not take any prescriptions. Taking a break is necessary for you. All work and no play is not good. Bless you!!
Hello Mick 🤗 I'm very proud of you & what you're accomplishing thus far 😉 Nice you're spending time with your family for the holidays 🎄 Take care &;do what you can 🙏💖 glad Daniel is ok 🙏
Mick, so good to see you again! From my perspective, as a 71 year-old lady, you didn't make Any mistakes. You made opportunities for growth and learning. This Life that you are creating is for you. You may create it in any fashion that you choose, and it will be perfect for you. It will be yours. Receiving help is not weakness. It is, in fact, strength. Anyone who finds fault in another person, is showing just how little they love themselves. Sad for them, really. You have great artistry in you in so many areas and levels. And you are wise beyond the # of years spent on the planet. I look forward to your sharing whatever you put your heart into. You are remarkable.
Amen!! So true!! 👍🏻❤️
You may have struggled to graduate from high school, but you are a beautiful writer. Your efforts in editing this video and beginning this new phase of your life are admirable. I look forward to enjoying your vlogs in 2024. Merry Christmas! 🌲
I am a old lady and mother of two sons. My boys are nearing 50 and over the years I have enjoyed watching them do stuff and gain knowledge and confidence from all the "mistakes" they have made over the years. I'm sure your parents are as proud of you as I am of my kids. Keep up the good work!
I totally get it. Built a house in my 20s from an old barn and people called it "cheating" because there was an existing structure.
We replaced every wall, rebuilt the roof, poured a concrete slab, and labored for what seemed like forever. Learning to ignore the detractors and be "the man in the arena" at a young age is a blessing. I'm looking forward to watching your land blossom!
Hey man.. It's been awhile since you've given me some encouragement which helped. I made it out of the homeless shelter and slowly working my way up. Almost 6 months with my job. I've made mistakes and learned. Can't give up no matter what at this point. All I need is a car and chasing my dream job and places to see.
Best of luck, keep fighting the good fight! Congratulations!
dude youve got this. One step at a time. Keep working hard, homelessness to stability is a mountain to climb akin to Everest, and youre halfway.
Take 1 minute at time. You can do it. Smile and ask to do more. You got this!
Enjoyed the recap, Mick.❤ We really are inspired by your channel. i am 65 years old, my wife is 54. We like to see the passion of young folks doing stuff. I have 3 acres. My son has a spirit like you, he was able to get 14 acres about an hour from me here in South Carolina. They have chickens, goats and so on. Bought themselves a Woodland lumber mill and learned to use it. I love the size of your cabin, or as the haters call it, your shack. I would like to build one about that size on a hill at my son's house. Make it all off-grid. Even at 65 the projects keep me going and staying happy. Thank you again, sir, for sharing your adventure with us all. 💯❤
Your journey in life has only begun, and you've already learned some very valuable lessons. Good job Mick - thanks for sharing your lessons learned with us all.
Community is so much more important than metro city dwellers understand. Call on your friends and family to help you, teach you or just be a comfort. No one on this side of the camera matters Mic. You are blessed and its beautiful to see you are acknowledging it.
“Life can be as short or long as you make it. Routines and tedium shorten it, and adventure and enthusiasm lengthen it.” Words of wisdom Mick 🙂
I love how humble and honest you are. Ive been interested in construction the past few years and even went to college for it. I just hate the narcissistic "I've been doing this for 50 years" attitude in the construction industry. I wish construction was more of a collaborative effort.
You have inspired my 16 year old so much, as well as the rest of our homesteading family. Mick pay them no mind. Haters and people who have no idea of personal experience. I'm so glad that you are experiencing such a great life! Keep content coming and we'll keep watching.
YOU, my friend, have a LOT to be proud of. There will always be mistakes in life and plenty of naysayers. There will always be armchair homestead quarter backs...take it all with a grain of salt. Self-reliance is about community and friends, and those that TRULY live the lifestyle fully understand that. You are talented and have more ambition than most your age. Keep on keepin' on, and never forget we are ALL a work in progress. Merry Christmas to you and your amazing family!!
This young man and his buddies give me HOPE!
Mick. You are far wiser than those who criticize you. If you never fail, you never learn. Jealousy makes bitter people say ugly things. One reason I love your mom’s channel so much… she’s not afraid to make mistakes and shares them with us. She makes me feel like I can do it too! Have a wonderful Christmas. Love you and your family.
I am so very proud of you and all you have accomplished this year. As a mom, I can understand how your mom must be feeling ... Merry Christmas Mick. Keep doing what you are doing, shoot for the moon, and land among the stars. God bless, He will guide you every step of this journey called life. Please let Daniel know that he has my prayers for a full and speedy recovery from the accident.
You have the heart of a poet and you are wise beyond your years. Please keep writing and building!
As a recently retired high school science teacher/administrator, you would have been a student who I would have loved teaching! You're an intrinsically motivated THINKER!!! Keep living your dream and telling your stories, which by the way, is your gift and calling! 😊
You've done an amazing job in just 6 months. Learning from mistakes is part of the journey. How many of the haters have built up a successful CZcams channel, moved across country, bought land, and built a home fresh out of high school in 6 months? You're an inspiration to many on here, keep up the great work!
Mick....ALL I can say is, "I am so proud of you!" You've got guts and determination! I am sure your parents are proud too. Cannot wait to see you continue your journey! As a 64 year old woman, I have lived vicariously through watching your mom and dad build...now you too! Great job!
We all should actually be GRATEFUL for our mistakes , because IF we can LEARN from them, that is a teaching tool... You are an amazing young man. I know your Mom & Dad are extremely PROUD of you!! Don't sweat those folks that aren't worth it, they aren't Living- YOU ARE!!❤
How many 18 year olds does anyone know who have built their own home? Mick, you're killing it!! You may have 'just barely graduated from high school' but clearly, your introspective views on life that you freely share impress the heck out of me. Nevermind the naysayers - they're just jealous that they don't have the enthusiasm and drive that you do. God is lighting your path - always be mindful of that and continue doing exactly what you're doing. So many of us out here are watching in awe at all that you're accomplishing and wishing you nothing but the best. I love all of your posts and will be looking forward to the next one.
Mick, I was so happy to see your video in my feed! Thank you for sharing this time of reflection. You are wise beyond your years. I’m a 76 year old widow and your love for life inspires me. Have a wonderful Christmas with your family! I am thankful that your friend survived that horrific crash. We aren’t promised another day…..but I’ve always tried to live my life with gusto!! Blessings to your whole family 🙏💖
Hey Mick
Texas Granny here.
Update us on this page what you are doing. I love the art and what you make. Perfect for winter.
You are so inspiring as you walk this new phase of your life. You will tweak, adjust, pivot, seek, refine and more.
Your subs love you. We don’t expect you to be all grown up and perfect.
The fact that you are facing your dreams and doing is wonderful.
Blessings.
Granny
Young man, what you've achieved is priceless. Something to be so so proud about. The journey you have traveled, very few of us have traveled..the experiences and challenges that you had to face and overcome, you can't explain to someone who hasn't walked that road yet. So don't take to heart what those couch cowboys have to say. I can't wait to see what you have in store for us in 2024.🎉 God bless you and your family and keep you all safe. 😊
People arent here to see someone who knows how to build it all, we´re here because you do a great job at storytelling, video-editing and trying to follow your dreams.
I'm 36 years old and i´ve only seen a handfull of people with that much passion as you.
Keep at it, we´re proud of you.
Unfortunately a lot of people that come across this Channel watch it as a “how to” instead of a “I did” channel and feel they need to correct any possible error they see. This is, and has always been, the story of a young man figuring things out as he went along in the best way he knew how, watching the very noticeable improvement from video to video.
Heck yea! You DID it! You built a cabin AND built a CZcams channel to 100k+ followers. Two incredible accomplishments. Enjoy time with your family. Happy holidays 🎉
I'm 52 years old and proud of it. And the words of wisdom I have always lived by is something my grandpa taught me and you're just making something out of nothing. And you're doing a great job. So keep doing it making something out of nothing is more awarding
Wise beyond your years young man. Wishing you the best in the new year, and so glad your friend was not too seriously hurt in the car accident.
I’m sorry you’ve experienced down instead of up comments and I’m glad, I’m one of those people to whom have always cheered you on! Blessings dear one🌱
Damn, son, there’s SO much wisdom in what you put in this video that has taken me SO long to learn (and I’m still learning it!) Also I’m very much here to see you succeed and learn what I can from your process.
The way you tell your story and the build is something you will never forget! And quite the philosopher 😊😊
Mick ... I think you have done such an amazing job.... You're 18 ... And buying property, and building your own cabin..... You have integrity and stamina beyond your years...keep on being you ❤️
You’ve figured out more in your 18 years than many people ever do. Here’s to more learning and growing for us all in 2024❤. For what it’s worth, I’m impressed with all you’ve done so far!
Your cabin build is the dream of so many. Well done young man. I look forward to joining you on your build when you return to it. Don’t let the world get you to far down the hole of existentialism. That can take u to dark places. Those build moments are peace my friend. Take care.
Your cabin is FANTASTIC!!!!!!! You are a wonderful story teller. You should be very proud my dear. Stay strong my dear and God will carry you through your journey of life ❤❤❤❤
There’s no better gift than friendship. Was glad to see your friends come out and help. Keep going brother
I just love you young man. Listening to you talk would be encouraging to anyone. I’m excited to watch you move on. Even if you didn’t bring your mom and dad‘s building skills with you, you brought their character into your life. Growing up in stature and in mind.
Well said Christina!
Excellent video Excellent effort. Excellent insight into what it takes to succeed in life. You have a maturity that it's taken most of us a lifetime to collect. Thanks for your content
Making mistakes is not failure they are learning experiences. Well done and heads up for next year. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from Scotland, UK.👏🎉🎈🇬🇧
We started our journeys around the same time. I’m now living in the tiny home trailer I built and I parked it on a farm for cheap rent. The landlord hired me to take care of all his machines and do a bunch of jobs for him. I’m working on a skid movable off grid hot tub with a shower. Monitoring power usage for solar install and working in finishing touches before it’s ready for full time road life or property ownership.
Not many people would have the guts to even try things they dream of. You are not that person. You have in NO way failed. Your cabin is a work in progress. Our lives are a work in progress with many twists and turns. I'm glad you don't let the naysayers and haters discourage you. As you said, it's easy to sit at home watching a video and judge. Just keep doing what you're doing. Be true to yourself. If your road takes a turn, embrace it! It might end up being the greatest adventure yet! Merry Christmas to you, your sister, and mom and dad. All of you have inspired me!
Mick, you did a great job building. Just ignore the naysayers. You are a great story teller. You are a very good writer. I look forward to your future installments!!
@@diannahaas7171 Thanks!
I'm glad to hear your friend survived the car accident and I hope he recovers fully and speedily. Merry Christmas to you and your family! I've enjoyed following your journey this year. You're definitely a positive reflection of your parents, and your own person at the dawn of your adulthood. You've opted for the School of Hard Knocks, in one of the most public and vocal arenas imaginable, and I applaud you for your efforts. You started with raw land and a tent; you ended the year with a fully built cabin you can live out of while building cabin #2. So you didn't brazen it out in place the first winter; you still own the land, and the cabin still stands, and you're already planning next steps. That's not failure, that's humility and sanity, which will serve you well long term. You can think clearly, you can express yourself well, you're unafraid of making and learning from mistakes. That's a long-term recipe for success, and I wish you plenty of it.
Prayers for your friend, Daniel, an amazing buddy! You hang in there and keep following your dream. You can do it! Yay, more art. I'm so excited and you are a talented young man! Merry Christmas and Happy New year!
I'm here for all of it! The good, the bad, the ugly, the imperfect. Watching you is encouraging and inspiring. God bless!
Sorry about your friend. My hubs and I were hit by a DD 3 years ago. Our lives haven’t been the same. With that, I’m 43 and still making mistakes. Life is always about learning, new lessons, mistakes, good days, bad days, all of it. Ps.. I also live in Michigan but I’m so ready to hit the road and head out west or somewhere other than here. Stay safe and enjoy your travels. Pss…hurt people, hurt people. Sad, isn’t it? 💫
Personally I think you’ve done more than any adult I know. You’ve expanded your world with open eyes. Being a Veteran you’ve grown by leaps and bounds. Keep growing and make your life as you choose too. Alaska is a beautiful place and I enjoyed it while I was there.
Nick you are like a moderne version of a Jack Kerouac. I thoroughly enjoyed watching this sonnet, vignette, ergo video of yours. You are a brilliant young man. Your honesty and pathos is refreshing. Wishing you continued learning and blessings in your chosen life path.
Enjoyed this thoroughly. The clip of having a meal inside a place you built with your hands is awesome. The whole build is just great
“People by and large are like water. We tend to find the path of least resistance.” Mick, you've spoken wisdom here. Some part of every life ought to be invested in a path of greater resistance. I'm so pleased by your progress!
Yes, I think you're a natural philosopher. I liked this video better than the others so far - not the pictures but the narration about your life's ambitions and commentary on people and life's challenges. Wish you would go easier on yourself and don't worry if you don't get back to vids again until long after January....but I get it if it helps to create your own deadlines.
It's a line from a book 🙄🤦🏻♂️
You’re a wise 18 year old. Kudos to you for being a doer and humble enough to do the right thing. I’m glad Daniel is going to be okay. Thanks for checking in with your audience. Merry Christmas!
I don’t want to be yet another person commenting on your journey and telling you how you could have done it better. What I will say is that there is wisdom in learning from those who came before us. I understand the desire for independence and wanting to do things on your own. I think that you can still accomplish that while getting guidance. When you are on a limited budget, it is so important to make the best use of your resources. There is no shame in getting assistance to learn what materials to use and when to use them or how to build a structure that will protect you from the elements of every season. You did an amazing job with what you had. You took on a huge task that many individuals twice your age wouldn’t attempt. Best of luck moving forward with your journey.
Amen 🙏 You are definitely living your dream and and following Dad's footsteps,!!!!! Thanks for bringing us along with you on your journey !!!!!! Best of luck in the New Year , we are with you all the way 🙏
What a GREAT story and cabin....really enjoyed the "being real part"...you have tons of talent and can't wait to see what you tackle next....Merry Christmas!
Young man you should write a book and definitely read it to us, you have a very soothing voice and you have something to say. So glad Daniel is still with us, prayers for his healing!!
You have done an amazing job, Mick!! Rest up in MI and refuel this winter!!❤
"You need to" keep doing what you're doing man... you are going into warp speed as far as evolving as a person... right out of school! I only started to become free at 34 years... I've been hitchhiking the U.S for five years now having the time of my life after 11 years at a desk job... you're bad ass and a Philosopher as well. Wish I knew what you know now at your age... I'm turning 40 soon but seriously in by prime because of this way of thinking... enjoy the winter... I'll be chillin on the beaches of Florida this year.... well done sir 👏
May God be with you and guide you, good luck my friend!
I could easily see your channel being focused on your artistic expressions of Alaska, your painting was amazing, your story telling is amazing, and I am sure there is much more to learn about you and your passion for life and Alaska.
So wise for one so young! Soldier on, Mick, at your own pace, to realize your dreams. Ignore the negative, as they are the minority of your viewers….. we are cheering you on! 👏❤
You're amazing! My husband and I have built an off grid cabin. It's taken us 5 years and we aren't done yet. Nothing fast about doing it the hard way. But the satisfaction is huge! Good luck in 2024 mick!
Honestly Im impressed. Good on you and glad you are taking care of yourself. Online haters cant do what you did.
Morning, Mickey...
You have two of the most beautiful parents in the world, and a spirit filled with adventure.
I think your on the cusp of greatness.
Blessings your way, and happy holidays...
I can not even begin to put into words how much I enjoyed this video. Your real, honest, have have a perfect voice for narration. Please keep on as you’ve only just began and like your folks said so many of us are proud of you and your ability to stay true to yourself. Just so you know many of us also pray for you whenever you come to mid. Take care now Shirls
You’ve done more at 18 years old than most 40 year olds have done. Good for you! Don’t let anyone dash your dreams. Taking a break doesn’t mean you’ve failed - you’ve already succeeded! You’re just switching gears, as you’ve called it. Keep going! Keep pursuing those dreams. Most people can’t say they ever have in their lifetime.. but you are and you should continue to :)
Mother Nature always wins. Congrats on what you did accomplish! Ready to see the next video.
You always come across as very articulate, this makes your narrative and videos excellent to watch. Thankyou
Nick……… what a wonderful year you have had, your level of self-awareness, self knowledge, humility, honesty, and endurance is lifetimes ahead of the empty self inflated egotistical individuals that judge your journey. You have done well for your first trip around the track. I am certain your parents are proud of you, just as those of us that watch you knowing that striking out on your own at the age of 18 takes a big set of balls, tremendous amounts of courage, and might I say, faith of some sort, all characteristics that people that have never experienced what you have just done know nothing of those character traits. Listen and meditate only to those that offer encouragement. They are the people that are interested in your success and will give you added ability through their positive thoughts and encouragement. Enjoy the holidays with your family knowing that you are deeply loved by wonderful parents and friends. Thank you for sharing your journey this year, and I look forward to experiencing more of your souls journey……… I know you have used the catchphrase toil for your food, but that connotes a type of suffering to which none of us do because we are all blessed with such opportunity because we are allowed to exercise our own free will……….. and you used it splendidly this year. Blessings and success for 2024..
Az Dan
What a successful year you’ve had! You’ve learned more in the past 6 months than 99% of us. Keep it up
Mick, you have accomplished much in the past six months! I know your parents are proud of your maturity. You have a wisdom that many adults older than you still haven’t grasped. Don’t let the critics get to you. We all have a lot to learn every day we wake up. I’ll keep learning until the day I die. I wish you great success and Merry Christmas to you and your family!
You speak with the wisdom of someone more than twice your age.
First time watching your videos and you definitely earned a subscription. I'll tune into another while i build a custom bull whip.
No escuches comentarios negativos.
Mick, I am so proud of all you accomplished. You built a cabin on your own land and had at least some fun with friends. What was I doing at 18? Touring around Europe, doing nothing but enjoying life and friendships. Which is not bad for an 18 year old, but does not help with having a home of your own and "toiling for your food." You are doing great-amazing! You only made a few mistakes, you did NOT get most everything wrong. I am praying for Daniel. Merry Christmas, Mick! Would love to see a little Christmas content in your next video. Link to your art channel?
So very mature and focused from what I see. Give yourself grace! Most kids today cannot even hold a hammer! What you have done is pretty amazing! You had school to get through and you have done a great job! The knowledge you’ve shown in what you have accomplished for your age is a testament for how far you will go! I enjoy watching you and I look forward to what you will show in the future if it be that you are still on YT! Keep going!!!!
I turned 66 today, and YOU ARE INSPIRING ME! Thanks bro. Keep living the life and forget the critics.
The orange light/warmth coming out of the cabin on a cold night in the thumbnail is a motif you see in virtually every Christmas/winter scene in paintings or on tv. All the Alaska shows on tv use the same imagery and dream. I know it got me to go there and return a few times. I did love my time in Alaska
You've done so much in such a short time! You have many gifts. I think your art , writing,, and narration, are amazing! I never watched for just the building, I watched for the unknown, and the adventure of it all.
Hey Mick! You've accomplished a lot in these last few months. Don't sell yourself short by focusing on not doing things perfectly. And thank goodness for friends!! You also show yourself as wise beyond your years. You know that making mistakes is part of learning and that you don't have to make all the mistakes to learn the lessons. I'm looking forward to your art channel and heading over there now. Wishing you a great month in Michigan with your family. See you back here in 2024!
Always love watching cabin builds especially in snowy parts of the world as I have never seen or walked in snow. Love the story of your journey, very well spoken, I can see you writing books as you have a talent for telling a story. Well done, I look forward to seeing more videos.
Bravo to you for taking on this adventure. You are an exceptional storyteller and a joy to watch. Thank you for sharing you our journey. Ignore the naysayers and keep pushing forward. All the best.
Way to go Mick! You should be so proud of what you have accomplished thus far!! Your mom and dad have raised you right and like your momma told you…. with God, everything is possible. Keep on keepin on☮️👍🏻😉
So glad to see you back! Ignore the negative peeps! You have done soooooo much more than most young men your age. Including your friends is Brilliant! Don't stop now!❤❤❤🎉
I loved this video. You are wise beyond your years. I have been watching your parents for quite some time and I enjoy their content as well. You all inspire me. Even if it is to just get out of my chair and clean my yard. Keep up the good work son
Your living your life your way. Keep it up. Your first build looks good. As long as you learn something every day. That's what matters. Don't forget to take some breaks to enjoy life now and then. Just enjoy the journey. Be safe young fella.
Mick, you're wise beyond your years, kid. We only learn by doing, and you're doing what most of us are afraid to try. Gladly accept the help from your friends and your parents, and you'll live a life that others envy. Love the videos! Can't wait for more. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays from a fellow Michigander who dreams about life in the mountains.
It's horrifying to think of complete strangers being cruel to you. Do not let them get to you. Mean people exist and the only option is to avoid and ignore them unless they go too far. Then other options exist. I have so enjoyed watching you do this incredible project, you and your friends having done wonderful work!! God bless you! Enjoy being with your family in Michigan. I'm a Michigander and know the draw to this place as well. We love you and are so proud of the person you are. Merry Christmas!!!
I think you are doing amazingly well. Owning your choice’s and moving forward. Never be ashamed or embarrassed about following a dream .
Having made one 30 minute video that isn’t nearly as good as this one….30 minutes of video is a ton of work. You’ve done well. 👍🏼
I always forget that you did this straight out of high school. You are far more mature than I was straight out of school. Also, your calling is clearly in storytelling. If you can do that via the cabin project, then good for you. If you find later on it’s another venture then don’t sweat it. You yourself are the reason we are so glued to this content Mick
