What I could find online suggests that the blacksmith was from Tennessee, and passed away in 1965. I have no idea how the machine came to central Illinois ? Thank you Nelson.
I believe that the blacksmith passed away in 1965. That is a level area so I suspect drainage is a issue. We had drainage issues at home. Very few hills, but plenty of sloughs. Thank you Chad.

That's cool. they definitely built it to last ,,it's neat they used for a mail box holder where people can see it when they drive by 👍 👍
