#7 in series of 10 one-minute videos on hospice care
Thank you my mom was on home hospice, but was discharged. However she was put back in after 4 months. This roller coaster has me on edge!
Oh, yes! The human body is an amazing and miraculous machine. Please go to our website www.thecareplan.net and read our page in the booklet on “about the dying body“. You will get more time with your mom which is the blessing and have some time for anticipatory grieving, which doesn’t happen with a sudden death. Blessings to you and to your mom has a loving child.
Thank you for this clarification. Hospice was invaluable during my sister's terminal illness. That Hospice is "less about dying & more about living the best we can with the time we have" is both accurate & comforting in terms of the high level of care provided by Hospice. Great series. Thanks.
Thank you so much for your comment. Please visit our website thecareplan.net for much more information and support. Best wishes to you.
Thank you for all that you do. I am experiencing pressure from a hospice team at the Veterans Hospital to sign paperwork on behalf of my husband. I feel extremely pressured and they keep calling. I finally had a good talk with my husband’s Doctor. My husband has stage 1 cancer & not yet ready for hospice- why is this happening. I see the hospice team walking around with a clip board asking I’ll Veterans about there social security. What is happening?
Don't know your actual specifics but this should not be happening. We never pressure anyone into hospice until they are emotionally ready to say - no more surgery, hospitalization, active treatment. Your husband might consider Palliative Care - watch that video please - it's one of the 1minute videos. This allows ongoing treatment WITH care for symptom management. Brenda and I swing between palliative and hospice. We help with symptom managment (that is the expertise of hospice care) while a patient and family are still involved in every choice to treat the disease. THEN when they are ready to come to hospice they know and trust us. ASK for a PALLIATIVE team that has hospice nurses available to consult for symptom managment, Hope this helps.... and, Brenda and I have over 50 years of actual bedside hospice care and are still working full time! Please consider going to our website to thank us for the FREE videos at www.thecareplan.net and pick up our $5 booklet which will review how to manage ALL of the major symptoms that may arise. Care is treatment! Thanks again, Nancy
Thank you for your response. My husband is on Palliative Care.
I’m so sorry but I was watching this and it sounded like one of my neighbors radio in their car blasting but I kept pressing pause and play to see if it was real car bumping music. Or the video and come to find out it’s the video again sorry my ADHS kicking in!!! Great video by the way so informative.
So sorry I hope you try again. No one else has ever had that issue nor have I when I just checked it. Please watch other videos and let me know if you’re having that problem go to our website at www.thecareplan.net and try from their best wishes.
Thank you 🙏
