You didn’t disappear...You were living and being human. There’s no explanation needed. People record when it’s right for them. If you force this channel as an obligation, you’ll resent it and not enjoy it. God bless you
Started watching your channel because of your locs but you are clearly so much more than your hair. You are beautiful and genuine inside and out and the haircut really suits you. Thanks for sharing and I am glad you're feeling better.
The struggle with natural hair is real and you are fine. It takes a lot of learning. A lot. I was natural for 4 years. I have had damage, I have dyed my hair twice, I have tried about 30 products. Everything. Our hair is personal to us. Not everybodys hair is the same. You really have to find a routine, a haircare product, and ect that is perfect for you. I have low porosity as well. I was 4c ig. Well I'm still 4c but I just got starter locs so yeah.
Your cut is adorable😍 My hair is similar to yours and is super susceptible to heat and even mechanical styling damage. I have to be ultra careful with any heat source. Glad you like your hair now:)
Your curls are so pretty! We have quite similar hair. My hair is fine but there’s a lot of hair strands if that makes sense. I just big chopped due to colour and heat damage. I don’t regret it because at the time that’s what I wanted but I do miss my length. But here’s to trying again and growing our hair back out again girl for the both of us. Hair grows back and every big chop is a chance to do better and rediscover our hair and enjoy hairstyles again. I can’t wait for my hair to be long enough to put in puffs again.
I can relate to the stylist cutting off more than what you wanted and dealing with damaged hair. I actually started my old locs because a stylist chemically damaged my hair by wetting it before adding the bleach and I had no idea until it was too late. I feel your pain and am glad you're back! As someone who always gets a tapered cut when I go back to a TWA, I can say that it's a very cute style and shape. To me it makes you different vs most common cuts because not everyone can pull it off and it gives you sort of an edge if that makes any sense. Maybe it's a blessing in disguise, your hair will grow back fast before you know it + I kind of feel like going through the TWA phase is also a part of the natural hair journey. Just like when you go through the so called "ugly phase" when you start your locs and they're not mature yet.
you’re absolutely right. the TWA phase is just something a lot of us go through during our hair journey. a tapered cut is different for me but i’m feeling it ☺️ i’m glad someone can relate.
I think the cut suits you! It’s a shame that the stylist didn’t discuss it with you before cutting so much. Perhaps she wanted to get rid of all the damaged hair and give you a shape, but she should have consulted with you first. I have fine strands, 4a-4b, low to medium density hair and I have to be very careful about heat and over manipulation as well. I’m very fortunate to have a natural hair stylist that I trust that I go to for trims 3-4 times a year. I think your hair will grow out beautifully!
Sorry you didn't get what you asked for and that's not okay but like you said it is *super* cute and on a positive note you can restart your journey on a healthy canvas. Good luck on your new healthy hair journey. Your length will be back before you know it!☺

Did you show her a picture of what you wanted? You should have told her that you didn’t like it.
She said she showed her a picture of what she wanted before she started cutting
