there's no need. It last a little more than a day, which is in line with iphone. If you can remember to charge your phone, you should be able to remember to charge your watch.

Watches were only ever circular to accommodate the legacy technology of watch hands.
We no longer need watch hands, a square makes way more sense for a smart watch.

I’m still using version 3, skipped last 2 os upgrades and getting 2 days of usage. I’m still extremely happy with this, but the back cover is getting to be word out. I think I’ll upgrade to ver. 9
I think the design is fine as is. On a watch, the curves make it sim much more comfortable. Flat edges, can just imagine pressing into the skin. Or sharp when sleep tracking. What they should do, is make stainless steel the main material.
Their smartest move is to make the standard watch way more like the ultra, and let the next iteration of the ultra be THAT much further forward for true adventure enthusiasts. I just now upgraded to a used Ultra 1 from a series 4 and it’s incredible. It’s hard for me to imagine them making a redesign that would make me actually want to upgrade from the ultra, unless it basically is one with new, cool features
You know what would be crazy: Some new innovative band connector, like a tube where the band slides onto. Maybe a 20mm or 22mm width.

Aliexpress has adapters. Works great when you can use any watch band.

I think apple could integrate technology into the bands themselves. A few new sensors or some sensors to help with gesture detection.
Wouldnt work well as it would need to be flexible to be accessible for sports and movements. Adding tech would make it a lot more expensive, thicker to carry the tecnology and the bands would be a lot clankier
Thats a lot going on. I cant even get the regular sleep app to work properly on my AW Ultra.
Well I’m not sure if it will be coming any more because of the patent lawsuit and stuff might delay upcoming releases?
As a diabetic I've been really hoping for the blood glucose monitor. That would make things so much easier, if a watch could just tell me when something i ate really affected me rather than having to use a continuous monitor or keep jabbing my finger.

Longer battery life would be nice, I don’t think there is too much they can do from a noticeable design change if they keep the square design which is the most likely direction do the software impact a round face would take. I am curious what they can do with the band mechanism.
I get they have to keep on selling, but there is no need to re invente the wheel. Maybe improve battery life? But honestly I adore my Apple Watch Ultra ❤️

I think the current S9 design is superb and doesn't need change. Maybe slimmer edges. I actually love the "square" rounded design, very beautiful. The only thing I'd expect them to improve is the battery.
7:18 The file size is probably massive. Maybe allow users to download 4K versions of the same wallpaper so it wouldn't take up as much space or take as long to transfer. Plus I can't think of any device besides a top-of-the-line extreme TV with an 8K resolution.
We do offer an optimised version too :)
Also - with an 8K resolution, you can zoom in and crop a lot, even on a 4K screen.
I think it is funny that these "leak" videos on the watch are not taking into account the now, stop-sell on Apple's Watch 9 and Ultra 2. Even Apple didn't see this coming and can't even import their current line. Good luck getting this up and running in the United States so you can even ship the things!

When are we going to get blood glucose readings? There are several on the market, but based on reviews I've read, they are not accurate, to the point of being useless.
None of this sounds like a "major" redesign. Short of going to a round screen (which I agree, seems extremely unlikely), it's still a rounded rectangle. They don't really have much real estate under the screen to make major changes. The flat sides sounds cool, though.
I want a round watch that has the full functionality of the current watch and 2+ day battery life.

No need to be rude tho. The Apple Watch X could simply be a seperate category just like the Ultra/SE.

The circular design won't happen because of branding. The current form factor is just too recognizable as an Apple Watch for it to change and be mistaken with Android Ware devices.
When the original apple watch was announced, it was not like Android watches had already been popular. There are plenty of traditional square watches. The biggest reason is the UX design philosophy. Square watches display much more information and different types of information the most easily with the least amount of work from developers.
Series X and ultra 3 will need to work out whatever their SPO2 sensor is due to infringements on Masimo patents.

I have the 7 non cellular and it will last almost 2 full days depending on how much I use it. I just throw it on the charger at night anyway. Pretty fast to charge too.
The best design of a smartwatch is probably the Google watch (in my opinion) - but Apple wont do a round one, i guess - mostly because it would become indistinguishable from the Galaxy, Google or whatnot watches.
The square design is - like the Notch/dynamic island - a characteristic - a feature .. that tells other people "this is an Apple device"
it's square because its much easier to read things and see content on a square screen rather than a circular screen. This is why phones are rectangular rather than circular
@@frogguyguy My Google Pixel 2 watch is beautiful, and quite easy to read due to software. One of many reasons I use Android (more options and variety).
Round is probably the worst watch form for a digital watch....

All GARMIN are the best ones. Solid with huge battery life and more stats for all sports

I just got mine last month after I traded my Series 5 in I had since February 2020. I like the longer battery life and I have the Oceanic+ subscription and have been diving in the pool with it on.
We already got a new design change with the Ultra.

Sleep apnea is a disruption in the breathing pattern, as you are still asleep, however it causes lower concentration of O2 in blood stream.
That’s what I have since July when I went into Afib just the night after my birthday and I stayed in the hospital overnight.

the magsafe was designed so that it dettaches upon an angular release so that whole laptop doesn't get dragged down onto the floor.... to say that the magsafe design should be changed to a latching system defeats the whole design functionality... might as well just get a PC laptop then...
you're talking about magsafe, he's talking about magnets. Magnets with a clasp so once the band and watch head meet it locks in to place. The idea is not to be like the magsafe you see on the macbooks.
as a swimmer I would not want a magnetic band. Honestly just want better battery life and sleep apnea tracking would be great

Ever wondered why the Watch, AirPods and Visio Pro are rounded? Apples Hardware Design Language is inspired by Naoto Fukasawa, which means: the closer the hardware to the human body, the more organic the design gets. I highly doubt Apple Watch adopting flat edges like on the iPhone.
