  • ADSR Collective and Sabukaru online are proud to present the first video in our collaborative mini documentary series focusing on the minds and designs behind the soundwaves. Join us as we uncover the process and personalities of craft synth builders, speaker tinkerers and eclectic sound sculptors.
We visited Hikari Instruments headquarters in Setagaya, Tokyo to learn about the story behind these eclectic noise makers.

The Hikari Monos is great to take outside with a portable speaker. It can run on a 9 volt battery and I typically send it through a delay pedal. You can pass the time exploring sounds. It really excels at recreating engine idle. Motorcycles, propeller airplanes, muscle cars...etc. If you set it just right you can idle and rev. Very cool.

Wow. Can't believe I'm the first to comment and this came out 3 weeks ago. What an amazing short documentary. I just stumbled across this man and his objects tonight and it was great getting to hear his personal take on them.
