LOVE the GoRide 8. It is close to 300 miles and holding up perfectly. It had lasted this long because I only use it on recovery days. I got the GoRide 9 but something changed between 8 and 9 and it felt like “just a shoe” so I sent it back. Glad to see the bounce is back, baby. I’ll have to pick these up next marathon block
Qd... I am a homebrewer... Its one of the reasons I started running... I started 10 years ago (and opened my very first bottle of my homebrew 10 years ago today!). I love the imagination, Science, fun and of course cheap delicious beer that I get from it and I love that I run to balance it out!
QD: I have vague memories of free time! 😆 As a computer programmer, runner and CZcamsr, I have very little free time, but when I get the chance, I grab a guitar and I rock and roll!
I loved GRRide 7. My PR for 10k, Half and full marathon with those. Got me 2 pairs and very comfortable for walking as well. Didn't like 8 due to sizing...a little too long. I will try 10 again!
10 as good as 7?
QD: we farmers don't know the meaning of "free time"😅, since work and things to do are everywhere around us. And if we have few hours a day off from work we keep thinking at what we could have done better and what we will do in the future. And then there's me, a rare case of both farmer and marathoner, who tries to fit workouts into a job that is very hard to concile with sport.

Great recovery shoe. I put almost 400 miles on the GORUN Ride 8 before it started feeling flat.
Hi Seth, love your channel and always look to it first for new show reviews. I’m a former national level runner myself, competed at eastern Michigan in track and xc, and also a former running store mgr. I just have 2 small issues with your reviews in that I feel you’re critiquing the weights of the shoes according to your body type - the average runner doesn’t weigh what an elite level runner does therefore an extremely lightweight daily trainer would not be good for them. Also I don’t think the price of the shoe has anything to do with how the shoe performs and shouldn’t be included in the overall performance score of the shoe. Just my 2 cents.

PS Wow, did you watch today's vlog (May 17)? He talked about why he *does* include the price, and for the first time, I'm convinced!!! : ) Basically (in a nutshell) it's kind of his way of holding the running shoe companies accountable for their prices: no matter how great the shoe is, if it's not affordable, it's not going to get a great score.
Hyperburst midsole is one of the best in the market! If you are mid foot striker you will most probably love the shoes (Mstrike)!
thanks for reviewing the Skechers shoes. I think a lot of reviewers pass them by because you can't buy them anywhere except online! Wish Skechers would get some inroads to running stores so people could compare them side by side with the inferior Hoka models.
I think you're getting the durability of the Go Run Ride lineup wrong.
The 7 is the only road shoe I've taken over 1000 km.
The 8, Jami's shoe of the year, at 650km is holding way better than a Nimbus 21 or a Pegasus 36 at lower mileage.
Their uppers are somehow more resistant than Nike's or Asics' in my experience(Not tearing so easily)
love the ride 7, a bit underwhelmed by the 8 (although I still took it to 600km without any problem), skipped the 9. I think I'll buy the 10 after this review. Currently loving the maxroad 5.
Yeah, it's weird how the bandwagon on Skechers really took off with Hyperburst (and I have 3 shoes with HB). But my favorite shoe is the GoRun Ride 7 with Flight Gen foam.
@@tsubakichan I've wore hokas, nike's react foam, asics blast foam, etc. For me, the best EVA-based foam for daily training is still the flight gen that was in the skechers gorun ride 7 and the maxroad 3 ultra. Hyperburst are great for tempo/race shoes, but I think for daily trainer flight gen is better.

10 as good as 7?
Wearing Ride 8 over 500k for about 2 years. Midsole still bounce like new, and Goodyear outsole not wear out in most area, and upper still good. Most running on aspalt and concrete road
Hyperburst may be soft, but it's not musshy soft that kills ur feet and legs and saps ur energy..... it is soft, but is EXTREMELY RESPONSIVE I have always found..... it very nicely absorbs the shock but comes back and propels u forward. It is the best midsole material on the market and although it may not last as long as some other midsoles I would rather it like this and then have to buy another pair. The only thing I don't like about this particular model is the fact that it is a 6 mm drop and I don't like to go anywhere higher than a 4 mm so I am waiting now for their Skechers razor 4 + to come out so long as they don't stuff it up and put in a carbon plate.....
In my free time I go out trekking, and do a little bit of Rockjumping.....

The Ride 10 seems to be so similar to the Razor Excess 2... Similar stack, same upper, same midsole materials, etc.

I absolutely loved the GRR 7 and am now running in the GRR 8. I ran half marathon PRs in both. I already snatched up a pair of the GRR 9s and look forward to trying out version 10 in the future.

Seth, if you had to choose between the GoRun Ride 10 and the Razor Excess 2, which would you choose?
A head-to-head would be great; especially because they have an almost identical stack. The Razor has the plate. I have the Ride 10 and it's as buttery soft as Seth said.
I've taken three pairs rebel v2 over 600km. That seems to be about when I notice I need a new pair.

love the sketchers range. however I find the good year rubber not as good as others brands

Durability? Although they switched to stamping "Goodyear" on the rubber, it wears as fast as the old rubber, and for me it's worn to the Hyberburst in less than 200 miles (MaxRoad). These outsole of the Ride doesn't use the pods, so it probably would last longer. Upper NEVER wears out.

Seth, I’ve been a long time viewer and fan of yours. I am curious why I like certain shoes and absolutely hate others, when other runners love them. There has to be some parameter, like stack height, durometer, mid sole rubber content, or something. I love and run well in the Nike Next% 2’s, Saucony Endorphin Pro’s, New Balance 1080’s, ASICS Magic Speed, and almost all Hoka models. On there other hand, I can’t stand to even wear the Mizuno Rebellions, Nike Pegasus, Nike Zoom Fly 4 and all the On running shoes. All the shoes that don’t like are excellent shoes, but there is something about putting them on my feet is like nails scratching on a blackboard or fingernails being ripped off with pliers. It is that much of a dislike and no in between. Sorry for the long question.
I feel like the only reason I don't like Skecher's shoes are the colors. Other brands have more options and a lot nicer colors in my opinion.
Seth, I wonder if you would consider testing/trying women’s size 8.5/9? I am a men’s 7.5 (like you are) but stores don’t stock smaller than size 8, so I most always buy women’s…

Any thoughts on how this compares to Skechers maxroad line? I loved the maxroad versions 1-3, and thought maxroad 4 & 5 were just ok. Have never tried the Gorun Ride line yet

Hey Seth, great review! Would you say this shoe is wider than the Razor Excess 2? I have The Excess v1 and like it, however when I tried on the Excess v2, it was crushing my pinky toes. So much that I will need to pass on the Excess 2.
GRR10 is wider
I am curious as to your reviews after 3 months. I have had 2 pairs, go run and walking shoes. Both had issues after 3 months and strangely the second issue was inside at top of heal near ankle. A hole opened up causing blisters. Definately not a wear n tear issue.

100% ride 10, razor excess is more rockered and designed for speed. Midsole foam are quite similar

Hi Seth, how is this gorun ride 10 in comparison with grr7? I had two pairs of these shoes and I loved how soft they are and how they react to different pace. This grr10 are soft as grr7?
GRR10 is softer

@@shawnclancy62 the 10 is closer to the 7 than the 8 or 9. Also, try out the Persistence. It uses Ultra Flight like the midsole of the 7.
I am 53 and I love Skechers because they have the best cushioned shoes. I will NEVER buy another Nike product and Asics are the worst shoe I have ever owned.
