Thanks a lot for the reaction. So much joy at once. Yesterday reaction to Left on Mars and today Cruellest Goodbye. Now the combination of these two songs gives me new stimuli for thinking 🙈.
And you are right. Most of her solo work feels therapeutic to me as well, mainly because of her voice and personal lyrics. I love how much emotion she puts into her songs. And the Outlanders album has almost a hypnotic effect on me.

As most people will concentrate on Tarja and the Outlanders project, I want to say a bit more about Al Di Meola. He is one of the best guitarists I know, coming from jazz and fusion music. While he can play his guitar faster than most other guitarists I know, he created very beautiful melodies as well. He was discovered by the jazz pianist Chick Corea, one of the grounding fathers of jazz rock, and played in his band 'Return to Forever'. In 1975 they won a Grammy for best jazz performance of a band. Since then he built up an incredible solo career and played with numerous musicians all around the world. He's for sure one of the greatest guitar players of all time and whenever I listen to him, I am blown away by his guitar playing.

Interesting song. But even more interesting is Tarja's ability to find amazing harmonies, like in first two lines of chorus, and then suddenly end same chorus not so well. From the beginning of chorus you get high, Tarja sings beautifully, emotionally, high, very memorable melody and second half of chorus with going down sounds very faded.

Honestly, I was initially disappointed by the Outlanders project. This project has been teased for such a long, long time, she originally anounced it AEONS ago.
And the first thing we knew about it, was that it was going to include a collaboration with Walter Giardino, a Power Metal guitarist. So naturally we were all speculating that it would be a song on that route.
Years and years passed, I honestly lost all hype for the project. When it finally came out, and it was a chill out record, I was like "girl, bye" 💀. NOT TARJA HAVING US WAITING FOR A DECADE, for a chillout album, hell no 🤣.
However, the album won me over eventually, because of this song, actually. It is one of Tarja's most beautiful ballads, the melody in the chorus is so gentle and pleasant to the ear.
Now I'm happy she released it, even if it took her an eternity to do so, lol.
Outlanders track is up there also. Most of them are reworked covers.
On closer watching at the end she was not wearing her rings! Now that is dedication to the art.
She is still so lovely a human being.
