Seeing both the original and remastered versions... you can really tell just how much more detail there is now. Marcus deserves a lot of credit. :) I love all these games to pieces.
I'm so nostalgic over the old version , I really miss it so much and I think the remastered version was very well done but I will always stick to the old design

I kinda realized that Charles didn’t ever crash his helicopter in the fails since in those timeline the mission is failed and they don’t lead to the actual endings so in the ending he dies in the complete the mission that was the only real time he’s done it without it being a fail

Okay, but. Henry has experienced every fail. You remember his reaction to the teleporter, right? His obvious annoyance with it?
So with that logic, Henry has experienced every fail in the game. Every. One. He's been through every absurd choice that led to death, not just from the teleporter, but EVERY bad choice.
Including Charles.
So Henry has all of that experience knowing how all of his options with Charles ends. When Charles offers to take some bold action, Henry says yes, because, well, he has such a good time, even when it means death, like the infamous high five.
When Henry picked the Charles option, he wasn't actually expecting it to work. When he saw Charles fall down on the floor beside him, he was a little confused. His expression showing as much, but he guesses that since Charles is here and it hasn't immediately resulted in death that this is part of the good route.
After a few more deaths, they get to the broken escape pod. Henry sits down, relieved. It looks like they've both made the right choices. He and Charles will be able to go home with their Mission Accomplished. They'll both come out a little worse for wear, but at least this isn't a Fail.
It happens so fast. Henry can barely get up just in time to see Charles holding the Tophat member that had attacked him back. He can't contact Charles back, he can only listen to what he knows will be his friend's dying words. He hopes, hopes to God that this will turn out to be a Fail. They wouldn't kill Charles, would they? Not in a Mission Accomplished route?
What little shred of hope he has dies with Charles. He slumps against the glass.
His friend died because of him, canonical as his adventures can be since it was a Mission Accomplished. As a Mission Accomplished, it will always be relevant, in his mind.

Underrated detail from the legendary hi-five fail at 4:07 - if you pause to get a better look, you can see that Henry is laughing his ass off as he falls, while Ellie is understandably just like "wait what the fuck". (Charles' expression is also fucking incredible.)
