I do hobby horsing and I always say to ppl that it is a fun sport and if you think it’s weird just say it’s for us ppl who can’t afford real horses so we make due with what we have! 🎠✨💜

i think as crazy as it is, it's a good idea for girls or boys whose families cannot afford/have room for a horse or are against their kids riding a real one. At least they are having fun while exercising, no harm done, i don't get why people are so offended by this. the girls in this vid aren't mocking or making fun of real riders, im sure when they came up with this crazy idea that that wasn't at the forefront of their minds. people seriously need to pull the sticks from up their arses (no pun intended).

haha! this is so good for their fitness and wellbeing and happiness! What a good active sport to be enjoyed and supported. I remember growing up running and jumping hurdles outside for probably hours in the garden making up courses etc honestly a good use of energy in todays' tech-hyper world!

I think hobby horsing as a 'sport', is kind of silly, when you could put that energy and time into riding a real horse. Especially with the competitions and stuff 🤔. But I also think it pretty cool, and those girls are very talented to jump that high! 🤩🤗

I mean they COULD, but horses are extremely expensive, and not everyone can afford them. Plus, you need to buy space, food, clean water, and tack for horses, as well as afford their vet bills and everything that comes along with that. Some horses even need chiropractors! So, I understand where you’re coming from, but with a hobbyhorse, you only have to pay for…a bit of fabric and foam, I guess! It’s a great alternative for people who can’t afford real horses. However, although it is technically by definition a sport, I agree with you that it’s a little silly.

I mean if they are having fun... just like with the soapbox car races. Those aren't real cars either but they are superbly fun. It's not like we are forced to pretend it's the same like with the male-female athletes. Kinda sad that I instantly think they will try to make us take them seriously, that's the first thing I think about not actually that it's such a funny sport but how it's going to be forced on other people. I'm a hobby horser and people don't understand how hard it is to jump on a stick while trying to make it realistic as possible before I started I looked at it and thought it was so easy but it really isn't.Its basically track hurdles with a stick and trying to act out a real horse which is really hard while trying to focus and try not to get hurt I personally think it's harder then real horse riding due to we alot of times are stuck with pain in our legs and ankles I almost broke my wrist and ankle due to it and in real horse riding your not jumping on foot I'm not saying that one is better then the other it's just my opinion.I am currently having alot of pain in my ankle because of hobby horsing and it hurts to run now and it's been like this for 2 weeks sometimes it can take a year to recover and get back in hobbyhorsing do I think it's more dangerous heck no people can be way more hurt to the point they'll never recover from real horses.

where i live though $50 can buy you the cheapest possible pair of riding gloves. This "sport" is i guess good for people who cant afford a real horse or are too scared of real horses (or their parents are against it) 🤔
@@emilycapon Most of the kids who do this also take real riding lessons or even own a a horse. It's really not an either/or thing, but an additional, very portable way to be horse-crazed.
I'd say anything where you jump over obstacles while maximising speed and height of the obstacles is a sport. Some of the girls regularly clear 4'5'' (135 cm) obstacles with their hobbyhorse, which I concider pretty impressive.

We need something like this in the US, seems like all the activities for young girls are ones that adults say they should do. This seems like it's entirely for young girls by young girls, bringing these individuals of many different backgrounds together in an activity they can enjoy exclusively.

Yeah, (I know this comment is old) but their not coaches, their called trainers, (also, I know you might not be a horseback rider but just correcting) and most trainers are girls? And, anyway, your trainer is (whether it’s a boy or girl) yelling at you the whole time, like saying, “leg!”, “switch lead!” Or “put your heels down!”, that kind of thing. Honesty, I don’t know why they said “boys bossing you around” But it was not needed.
