I have to give credit not only to Jason Gray for improvising something as relatively coherent and amusing as that but to everyone else for keeping a straight face and persevering with the sketch as scripted.
True, Jason did really well but he was the only one who broke character at all.

Very clever! This could be its own series, and I like that they kept going with the script even if the next line didn’t match up perfectly

Imagine a sketch that's based off of a Shakespeare play, everyone is speaking perfect Shakespearean but one person doesn't understand their speech and is completely clueless

Just an idea you can try a skit (with a green screen I think would be funny) in which the scene and setting is unknown by a cast member, but a reveal of the context suddenly flips the meaning of everything that was said. Like you think they're on a military mission to break out a prisoner of war, but turns out they're just picking up their kids from the nursery, or the cast is huddled up and thinking up ways to score on this last play to win the game against such a strong defense, then turns out they were planning a jewel heist.

There was a TV show for a short time called, Thank God You're Here. Basically it did the same thing as this sketch. A celebrity guest Would be the only 1 not given the script. He wouldn't have to clean an adlib to get through the Sketch. The 1 I remember was Jason Alexander playing Captain Kirk, essentially.
Hamish Blake was the best at those.
When he gives her the rubber chicken, all I could think about was Team Black from Season 9 of Relative Race.🤣
