Really interested to see how this plays as some of the real battles sites are just down the road from my house. Hey the reason we follow your playthroughs is their idiosyncracy, their diversions /rants and the thought provoking reviews. Plus the pure variety of theme and period.
Yeah, that's my gut feeling - but more that it's expected now than any great improvements in our knowledge - especially where something like Heraldry is the issue.
The white cross on red a la Kingmaker comes from his coat of arms. The bear and ragged staff is his livery badge used by his retainers. It remains the county badge of the county of Warwickshire to this day. Yes there has been loads of good modern research on the whole period.
Can’t wait. I really enjoyed my couple plays so far. At first, I had a similar fear that this game may have finally “broke” the lineage from Nevsky, but once I got going it didn’t feel clunky in a way Pendragon did to me (Love Pendragon but will be the first to admit that I am not sure COIN was the best system for it). I felt like for the first time the L&C system was starting to fade in the background as common knowledge (like when the concept of CDG becomes second nature) and my opponent and I just starting going at a competitive and thrilling clip.
~ My copy of 'Plantagent' is still in the shrink, just waiting for this opportunity to watch YOU play it first. Thank you and good show my friend, sure hope I learn something useful from your play and review..
Another great video series from the best reviewer.
Awesome stuff, ty!

... and so it begins ...
I found the rulebook to this one really tough to parse. It was throwing out a lot of concepts without really explaining them.
Since Kingmaker came out around 1976, it would surprising if the research for this game was not better.

I think the L&C is fading into the background because core hard parts of it aren't in this one.

I’ve never played a complex game like this before but it really interests me. Would this be an OK place to start?
If the subject interests you, yeah.
Felt sea sick after 2 mins with the camera jerking around 🤢...had to bail...pity.
What do you mean by “raid” content?
