  • Welcome back to the Upgrade Series where we take an old setup and try to make it functional as possible! In this episode, we tackle the inconvenience of multiple peripherals and cables during boot sequence with the TESMART KVM switch. A Smart KVM allows you to control multiple devices from a single set of keyboard and mouse, and display them on your monitor(s).
    With this beauty from TESMART, you can connect up to 4 devices and 2 monitors, with resolution locking and support for up to 4k60. The KVM also shares 2 USB 2.0 ports, making it easy to switch between devices without having to reconnect peripherals.
    Not only is this KVM great for gaming, but it can also be used to switch between PCs with different OSs, stream with fast switching between consoles, and more!
    Check out the links below to get your own TESMART KVM and visit their website for more info. Don't forget to subscribe and leave a comment if you enjoyed this video, and stay tuned for more upgrades in the future!

    Hi, I noticed that you're using a Keychron K4 v2 keyboard in the video.
    Just wondering if you were able to use the hot-key switching keys (the keystrokes the KVM listens for) with this keyboard to swap between computers?
    It doesn't work with my Logitech G915 TKL LIGHTSPEED keyboard and I was thinking of purchasing a Keychron keyboard.
    Great video btw =)

    I'd love to have this KVM but the price is steep for a "nice to have". Currently, I use two 4K HDMI splitters and a cheap $40 VGA KVM to split my KB/Mouse.

    nice vid as always Snows! For especially sweaty gamers, does a KVM introduce any mouse/keyboard latency I wonder?...I have a KVM on my monitor but have never used it yet

    • @BootSequence
      @BootSequence  Před rokem +1

      If you connect the keyboard to the general purpose USB, it should be zero latency added. The specific kb/mouse USB port might add some since it looks for specific keystrokes to change outputs. once again it MIGHT, id ask tesmart, they're very responsive to questions.

    Can it be cascaded with another KVM that supports VGA Monitors?

    • @BootSequence
      @BootSequence  Před rokem +1

      I didnt talk about it in the video, but yes, it can be cascaded, as for VGA, you would need to choose a VGA KVM, but yes, that would work!

    I'm using a tool which share my mouse and keyboard among multiple devices.
    so I can move my mouse from my desktop to my laptop without switching any physical button.
    while supporting file transfer and copy / paste
    so 2+ devices controlled with 1 single keyboard + mouse without any KVM or physical stuff.

    • @BootSequence
      @BootSequence  Před rokem

      Of course ! But for consoles, or other video devices, software solutions aren't there yet!

    You should definitely look at the KVM from another fellow youtuber: Level1techs
    Some of them even support Quad DisplayPort 1.4 (4K@120Hz) and have USB 3.0 10Gb. Crazy stuff...

    just use barrier, no need for a physical KVM at all. incredibly seamless.

    • @BootSequence

      wont work for my consoles, but definitely good if you are computer only.

      Thanks for your comment! We think that physical KVMs and barrier KVMs both have their uses, depending on what you need. Physical KVMs are good for switching between different computers, while barrier KVMs are great if you want to run multiple virtual machines on the same computer. It all depends on what you're looking for. We're happy to help if you have any questions!

    Be careful with TESmart 2x2 KVM. They only support 120Hz on 1440p, which is why I'm not paying 300$CAD. Otherwise I would pull the trigger without hesitation, it really looks like a good company that care about their products and customers.
