    Only downside is for the price of 1 the larger stripes you could just as easily buy a radion pro and spend the same amount of money notcto mention probably 3x the power. These lights are fantastic though and definitely top of the line but way to costly if doing multiple strips especially on 4'-6' tanks

      These are actually stronger than the Radion g6. Will be cheaper too if you want to cover big tanks

    These lights are very close to amazing on paper.
    It just depends on the paper. When you look at the prices they strangely jump around seemingly randomly. There is no reason for massive jumps at certain lengths nor such a huge difference for the Glows over the Grows (ok 405nm diodes may be more expensive than cool whites or 470nm but it's ABSOLUTELY BS to say that diodes are responsible for the price difference). Once you compare other bars at longer lengths for similar watts the price difference just explodes. That just seems like more sneaky marketing to me to say they cost-effective when you are just comparing price per par, at shorter lengths. For example Reefbreeders are listed at $280 for 4ft vs $400 for the Grows and $569 for the Glows! That's a 42% increase simply for different diodes.
    And it's the diodes that, for me, are the biggest question mark for these lights - given the BRS spectrum episode and broad blue and that so many lights have 450nm diodes (including cool whites) I really question why AI can't make supplementary blue and broad blue blades.
    I'd be happy paying 50% extra on a 4 foot bar (many are $200), given the extra PAR, the better spread and functionality that these lights have... plus of course how nice they look. I'd even stomach paying double at $400... but for that I'd want broad blue - 415, 430, 450 and 470nm. That would better match the spectrum that BRS is pushing. Even better would be to have diodes that widen out the blue when paired with Radions and if you include white lets add in warm whites (which I think are much nicer).
    So I am really hoping AI bring out a better spectrum and price the longer lengths reasonably.
    The idea of using them to fill the tank with broad blue light all day really does call me because I think the design means they are the best at doing it whilst also looking the best too.

    I got a 12” grow and already had to send it back. There a plastic filler piece that shades the white led on one end of the light the 6 holes are not all centered. So the end woth the cord puts out a pink shade when the light only has white and blue leds. Now AI is Amat to charge customers $1 and then asks permission to hold your credit card info on file (probably so they can have a security breach and then Not tell customers). You have to pay $1 to get proper warranty service. They send you a new light and you send yours back. If they decide yours is not covered by the warranty they WILL charge you for the new light. So you’ll pay double to get a working product. They say “if it’s water damaged”. Like wtf. It’s an aquarium light it’s should be water proof It sounds like a racket if brs is a controlling partner of AI. They promote it, they make sales, it’s a sub par product and then they charge you $1 for nothing. On top of your light might magically be not covered by warranty. Ai sent me an email saying they would let me know about any damage charges to my light. I swear to god They better not ask me for a dollar Good thing I keep my old light to light my tank. AI is complete blind to the fact the tanks need a damn light on them They told me 3-5 days I’d be without a light. They paid for the slowest shipping so it took 6 days to ship and it will be a few more days of waiting. Everyone’s made money and now customers are screwed

      Do you really need UV?

    • @russeladams2003
      @russeladams2003 Před rokem

      @@donaldalderman2424 Yes, it is responsible for stimulating the fluorescence of a number of colors. Exposure to UV light stimulates corals to produce certain protective compounds, such as mycosporine-like amino acids. These compounds act as "sunscreen" for the corals, shielding them from the harmful effects of excessive UV radiation. Without the presence of UV light, corals might not synthesize these protective compounds, making them more vulnerable to stress and bleaching events caused by high-intensity light.

    • @russeladams2003
      @russeladams2003 Před rokem

      But you know, UV is not necessary, because it melts the lenses of AI and Ecotech lights. The push away from UV is promoted by BRS- the infomercial arm of the Aperture conglomerate. They need to make people believe UV is unnecessary because perhaps future (and current) lights don't have UV. Replacing all those AI and Ecotech lenses must be burning a hole in their pockets. Bout time that they say that it's not needed so that people forget that their Blade Grow and perhaps future Radion and Hydra omit UV altogether.
