In the original Mahabharata text, Ashwatthama actually invoked the Brahmastra by pulling a single blade of a grass from the ground. So the director has actually shown what is written in the original text, rather than being creative. So full marks for that.
Thanks for clarifying, mereko bhi aisa thoda thoda familiar lag to raha tha lekin yaad nahi tha.
I mean other than that detail, he used full creativity on the opening. While Ashwatthama invoked the Brahmastra, Arjuna, Bheema, Krishna and Veda Vyasa were also present, and they tries to stop him. Alot of such details were altered for the convenience of the narrative, but I'm not complaining, it's necessary to keep things brief.
But one more catch to that arjun also invoke brhamshra Astra to counter act but vyasa deva stop the two astra before collision ,and Arjuna take back the astra after listening to ved vyasa and after that he suggested a land without life to destroy bye the astra invoked by ashwattham but he target the womb of utrar carrying the last child of pandu bloodline. But krishna protect the child and named parikshit and after that he gave ashwattham to rotten in pain for iternal till kalki arrival.

Bibhishan and Ved vyas are not gonna fight. Hanuman is so strong that no human or God in any era can face his force. Parashuram is a master now, he only passes on knowledge so he won't fight either.

*There are 3 mistakes in Kalki's Mahabharata parts.*
1. Aswatthama ne sidha sidha Uttara ke garbh par Brahmastra nhi mara tha. Usko wapas bulana nhi aata tha isliye divert kar diya uttara ki trf. Waha par us samay Arjun ne bhi brahmastra ka prayog kiya tha par Krishna, Narad aur Ved Vyas ji ke kehne par usne wapas bula liya.
2. Krishna ne kabhi Aswatthama par prahar nhi kiya tha. It was actually Bheem who out of anger attacked Aswatthama after that horrible incident. At that time Krishna, Bheem and Arjun were present. It was complete dark time of the midnight, not evening.
3. Vijay is not more powerful than Gandhiv, neither Karna was more powerful than Arjun. Both were actually on same category. A Huge distortion of Mahabharata that can mislead the young ones, to idolise an anti hero greyshade character.
All these points I spoke about are clearly written in Vyas Mahabharat. Bhairava's some of the scenes we saw in Glimpse were never seen in the actual film. Clearly they reshooted and added this Karna-Bhairava connection out of complete fiction 👍
There is no point in finding historical and scriptural reference in Kalki anymore bcz they have entered a complete world of fiction now.

Basically you can convert anything into divyastra by chanting specific verses.
It's actually summoning the devine energy and not any physical weapon which multiple movies and series had shown in the past. Arrows they carried in Mahabharata is normal regular arrows and most of the war had been fought with it.
And actually Ashwatthama pulled a grass out of earth and summoned bramhastra in it. So creators didn't come up with this idea which was already present. They just moved along with accurate adaption of this part. Even BR Chopra showed it the same kind.
And to that point: Ravi Chopra did shoot actual simple arrows bumping into each other and destroying each other without any special effects. It was Ramanand Sagar ji who used special effects for all arrow scenes by just placing them side by side in blue screen and using lights.
Please go and read our scriptures, atleast those two epics.

Karna had to fight handicap as
1. Indra had intervened and ask for Kavash and Kundal for the protection of his son Arjuna
2. Pashuram gave him a curse to forget his knowledge about astras when he requires the most
3. Krishna knowing how powerful he was sent Kunti and asked for a vow to only kill one son
4. Bheesma knew about Karna from the start and didn't allow him battle from the beginning. Otherwise Drona , Karna and Bheesma would have ended the war on first day
5. Karna had Vijay Vow making him invincible as long as he wielded that vow. The only moment he left the vow on his chariot Arjuna shot the arrow.
6. Later on Karna had been given a one shot kill arrow by Indra. So Krishna sent Bhim's son Ghatokach to fight him instead of Arjuna
Still the only time Arjuna was able to kill Karna was when he was defenseless and inflicted by his curses. Tell me if Arjuna was so powerful as you say why did it took so many factors to defeat Karna?

It is said that - "Ek tinkey se bhi Brahmastra ka aahwahan kia ja sakta hai"............. same thing is shown in the opening shot. It was also shown in Mahabhrata series (90s one), where Ashwathama summons Brahmastra with a "tinka" from Vyas' hut.
And somehow this was the same in Thor 4 deleted scene, where Zeus summons his weapon from a similar thing.
Karna was a far better warrior than Arjuna and Bhagwan Shri Krishna said it on many times.
In Shanti Parva, Karna Parva, Drona Parva and many other Parva's, Lord Krishna sings praises for Karna. He even told Arjuna, if Karna had his Kawach and Kundal with Vijay Dhanush, he would be invincible.
Karna with Full Power can probably beat Arjuna and Drona in 1v2.

Nope that's what actually happened shree krishna praised karna for being able to push it 2 steps back despite of Hanuman ji and Krishna ji were on the rath it wasn't creative liberty it is mentioned in karna parva ie final confrontation between karn and Arjun although in some places it states he was able to shake the chariot some say they were able push the chariot for a few inches

The car which bears thee is endued with great impetuosity. But, O son of Kunti, as it is not fit to bear the shafts of Karna, it is sinking into the Earth. Therefore, O Partha, think of the means by which we may escape from this peril. I do not see how we can defeat the Suta's son in battle today. I tell thee this truly."

@@ganeshsinghrautela164 You are wrong. There is no such word as krishn in sanskrit. There is a word for black which is krishna. Get their names right. Krishn is just the hindi pronunciation which is wrong. Please do read your scriptures in sanskrit instead of hindi.

Yaskin name somehow sounds similar to Vishnuyas where he could have dropped the name vishnu due to kaliyug and people not taking gods name, Also Kalki is referred to as kalkin in few books, i dont know if all this is just blabber or too far fetched but I just couldnt wrap my head around the name "yaskin". Even more weird is the fact that yaskin is supposedly an indian name. And in the post credit scene, how come yaskin himself take the name of Jaganath if gods name is not worshipped by the end of kaliyug in the city. In whole movie the rebels were fighting for "Kal k liye" which drops kin from the name kalkin and yas adds kin to his name being yaskin.
Its a shock no one pointed it out where who;e shot is graded Brownish and yelloish, its not a good choice to throw arrows of blue and red. IT'S NOT!! The arrows by Arjun and karna should not be from RGB schemes.

hello guys i think director and writer should study more because that line where shree krishna told about karna who is more powerful than ARJUN is not in actual mahabharat by geeta presh so they add it from tulsidas friction text which one was not authentic because karna is not .5% of ARJUN .
