      Thanks so much Kathleen. Eric is a true inspiration. I can't imagine the temptation of being on tour with a ton of fans, money, booze, and substances. So awesome that @ericclapton found recovery.

      That was >19 years ago.

    The fact that someone would ask Eric for an autograph at a meeting is astoundingly inappropriate. Phenomenal insight here..

    It’s OK for alcoholics to say they’re alcoholics, but it’s not OK for you to say someone else is in program.

    Not cool that someone recorded this. AA is supposed to be anonymous and recording is prohibited.

    • @RecoverySpeakerschannel
      @RecoverySpeakerschannel  Před 2 lety +2

      Thats correct without consent. But there are thousands of meetings and conventions recorded daily with the consent of the meeting, speaker and everyone else involved.

      @@RecoverySpeakerschannel Consent from everyone attending? How does someone know that they aren't being recorded if the primary speaker was recorded?

    • @RecoverySpeakerschannel
      @RecoverySpeakerschannel  Před 2 lety +1

      I said everyone else involved, there is never a whole meeting with everyone sharing recorded, when Clapton was recorded he consented and that's why its just his story not anyone who shared after. AA worldwide services along with about 3 dozen other websites and CZcams channels have that audio published with his entire name.

      @@RecoverySpeakerschannel What happened to what is said here stays here?

    • @RecoverySpeakerschannel
      @RecoverySpeakerschannel  Před 2 lety

      Jack that is up to AA worldwide services. They have websites and their own CZcams channels with thousands of hours of audio released with the expressed written consent that the audio is recorded with known knowledge and permission from the speaker and released to the public domain. Not all audio of course but the audio that is released.

      “Our Public Relations policy is based on attraction rather than promotion; we need always maintain personal anonymity at the level of press, radio, films"
      AA worldwide services and AA.org released all media files and open meeting list on the internet. Anonymity is based in the person speaking their choice. Listen to the speaker just posted Clarence S he explains it well he was Dr. bob's sponsee. He chooses to say his last name and not be anonymous.

      "I'm Eric- the alcoholic", sharing the message.
      🙏🏻🙂
      That's all.
      But that's a lot
      He breaks his anonymity in interviews with Dave from Politically Homeless.
      Notice he (and others) never say "AA" - they refer to "a 12- step program".
      God bless
