You have explained the mother child dynamic perfectly. This is exactly what happened I could not express my emotions, were punished, ignored or they got invalidated every single time. I grew up with so much Shame around pretty much any emotion good or bad. Only now in my 30s I could pin point source of dissapointments and pain in my life and heal it. I'm reparenting myself and allowing myself to feel all the feelings even anger, jealousy etc and find healthy resolution. Self acceptance is a key 💕 for me I had to cut out my toxic mother who only got worse with time.
Having a libra moon is so hard when you care so much about fairness and live a life surrounded by people without the same desire for equality and balance in relationships. It's very challenging...

So interesting about the mother not being able to handle the Libra moon's emotions...my mother would and still tells me "that's what you have a therapist for" any time I stupidly think I can confide emotions to her...

SAME!!!! Cancer sun mom, felt like she was always putting her partners ahead of me, which she was acknowledged as we've gotten older. I felt like i had to raise both of my parents.

I am a Cancer Ascendant, so my Libra moon sits nicely in the 4th house which really amplifies the intuitive nature of the placement but also has a healthy dose of detachment in order to allow analysis. My libra moon also makes a trine to my venus in Gemini in the 12th house, which really helps grant even deeper and more profound intuition.
I'm Scorpio with a Libra Moon... I'm more of a charming, sociable type. There would be a time that I would not deal with any conflict or real life violence.
Same sun and moon here, same way, very shy at first and chill. But really intense and fun to be around at the same time when you get to know me lol

What goes through my mind when Sally doesn't invite me: "Well, Sally is free to invite whoever she wants. Sally has no obligation to invite me." (Which, if you think of it, are thoughts of justice and fairness, the scales of Libra). This reasoning doesn't stop me from being somewhat upset (feelings). After that, I take mental notes and become detached (Libra moon). Still polite, though. Also, I don't go to a get together if not invited (like, everybody's going, why aren't you, it's ok". "Nope, wasn't invited". If someone asks me what's wrong, I'll explain very clearly. If they continue to act a certain way, I will not express over and over what's going on. I'll just detach and move away. Mind you moon is conjunct Saturn. So IDK if all Libra moons do the neutral and detachment thing.
I think as an air sign moon, detachment is easier, despite what your sun or rising might be; it's not that air moons want to emotionally detach but air signs, in general, rely on logic thus allowing air moons to remain in control of our emotions a lot easier than others. Libra moons thrive on connection so I see detachment as a coping mechanism.

Yeah. You take note, update your mental model of how close you thought you were with Sally, and detach from the future. I don't see myself bringing it up, because again - she is free to not invite me. I just need to take note of it.
libra moon isn't just about emotions its also about the having a psychic nature , telepathy and mediumship hearing unspoken words thru the air , needing to communicate as air signs are relational , its about needed clarity over things for emotional security , needing to talk out and express ones emotions .
intellectualizing and rationalizing ones emotions being, marring logic and emotion (which becomes intuition) intuition is cerebral not emotional as its in your head your thinking the abstract (patterns) and trusting the gut feelings of the body
Its about the spiritual connection and having a mother who is unbalanced a relationship that needs alot of verbal assurance, a critical mother , a mother who appreciates you aesthetically even intellectually but never emotionally .
its about a unstable relationship with the mother like trying to capture air in a jar
it also depends on your rising sign since we are not just one sign there is no way our inner worlds or relationship with the mother is Soley from the moon sign so has to be spoken in conjuncture with pairing of the sun , rising, midheaven ic vertex chart ruler , dominant sign and psyche to get a better picture of someone's inner world
People always assume that the moon represent feminine but it doesn't because Lord Dionysus is a Moon God also as there is other male moon gods , even Allah

What you said about parentification and the mothers incapacity to handle their child going through the very human thing of feeling their feelings. My moon is intercepted in my 5th.. so that resonates big time. I was her primary caregiver physically until I was 16, and mentally and emotionally, a concrete example being something like being 8 years old and forced to go with her to the dentists office and hold her hand while she was having extractions. knowing my deep fear of the dentist, I was instructed to get over it. I avoid the dentist at all costs, and tear up in the chair when i do make it in. Luckily, I’ve only had good experiences of my own with them.
And I just recently came to the realization, and remarked to a friend, something about how I’m just realizing that sometimes I spend so much time trying to “have compassion”, and am ‘other’ focused, that I either don’t realize how *I* authentically feel until “the scales have been fully tipped”. And she went “aren’t you a Libra moon?” Lol that was an aha moment for me
And then yea that thing you said about panicking about micro movements not being enough, and then all my energy gets used up in confronting the issues but in a more aggressive ways then I would ever want to have to, in my head. I think it’s bc I feel that fear of invalidation. Like, “Carrie, you’re the only one who’ll care about your needs, and asking others to see that you’re worth being cared for and valued will be a let down.” So I exhaust myself before ever using my energy to fight for justice and equality and fairness… and that can look like avoiding others. I think I’ve become a world better than I was when I was younger at valuing myself, to the point of, if it means one day ending up with no one in my life, well then, ok. That’d be a different kind of pain, but atleast I’ll always have me, even though I’m not perfect at it, by any means. It still does feel like my true north to me.
So when I look like I’m avoiding, I am really taking that time to validate myself, but most often times it’s done solo and I’m always keenly aware of the potential of invalidation at any moment from others. So lots of painful lessons in learning who to trust in this way in my life.
And also lessons about recognizing people who feign empathy for their own gain instead of getting lost in my projection on to people that they are a lot gentler and kinder than they really may be, all stemming from my wounds of being invalidated and devalued and longing for those corrective experiences.
I think following my instincts more may be the next step in helping with this. Learning the difference between what my mind is wanting to believe but what my body is telling me. I need to pay more attention to those sensations.
Astrology has been such a useful framework for me. Thank you Nina bina (I don’t know why but I can’t say your name in my mind without the endearing ‘bina’ at the end lol)

All this control and rationalization makes me forget that Libra is an air element, which speaks freedom to me. Although this might be air trying to be free and not conforming, instead of going with the flow like water
I feel that all my rationalization is in order to have freedom of thought, and have them be my own. It's a protection in a way, but not overprotection in my case, I think

It is important to remember that the primary impact of the moon in astrology is about the inner workings of the person, and not exclusively about compassion and empathy.
The moon in a more general spiritual sense is nurturing and compassionate, but in astrology, the moon more so represents the inner world of the person, and whether that involves a lot of nurturing qualities is beside the point.
It is also important to remember that our moons compatibility in our life more so has to do with the rest of our planets.
I’m definitely like this but I see no reason to stop because feelings are never validated regardless

I am Aries, raising Pisces, moon in Libra. My mom was Libra raising Capricorn. One of the greatest habits that remained stuck on me is exactly what you said, to reciprocate, to put 50/50 on every project. All of that was reinforced when dealing with my younger siblings.

I’m sorry to other libra moons but speaking as a mother with a son with this placement I can not agree with the mother part.. Maybe because I’m a Aries moon and I’m all about self so I alway make sure my children put their feelings first, even before me at times. Libra moons are easily prone to be people pleasers. Everyday I have prep talks with my son to strengthen him and speak about his feelings because they MATTER!!!. I wish all y’all libra moons peace and love
