Ānāpānasati, is a Pali word, meaning "mindfulness of breathing" ("sati" means mindfulness; "ānāpāna" refers to exhalation and inhalation, paying attention to the breath. It is the quintessential form of Buddhist meditation, attributed to Gautama Buddha, and described in several suttas, most notably the Ānāpānasati Sutta (MN 118).
Śamatha, is a Pāli word, meaning "calm," "serenity," "tranquillity of awareness."
Vipassanā, is a Pāli word; literally means "special, super (vi-), seeing (-passanā)", are two qualities of the mind developed in tandem in Buddhist practice.

The late and renowned Samādhi and Vipassanā Buddhist Master Venerable Ketodhammo was born in Kampuchea (in English, Cambodia). His birth name is Som Bunthoeun. The venerable is a former Chair of the Buddhist Center and Director General of the Vipassanādhura Center of Cambodia.
