Forgotten No More (The Dominican Bateys) | DOCUMENTARY

Far from the beautiful coastal resorts in the Dominican Republic are dozens of sugar-cane villages, which locals call Bateys. These are company towns, located in remote rural areas, populated only by employees. Tour buses never visit them, and it’s unlikely that even a curious tourist in a rent-a-car would come across one. Thankfully, some pastors, doctors, missionaries, and ordinary folks from foreign lands (mostly the USA) have discovered these poverty-stricken shanty-towns. “Forgotten No More” tells the story of the way helpful people have been able to improve the medical, physical, and-most importantly-the spiritual conditions of The Dominican Bateys.
