Hey, back from a week break! And this is the VERY first video on either channel that is not edited by me, so please leave some constructive feedback below or your compliments for this editor trial!
Welcome back! Feedback: Transition at 0:25 was kinda jarring. At some times the info box went away when you were still talking about it (e.g. at 10:49 when you started to talk about Polar Metal, the info box went away and only showed a dim gameplay footage, and then it reappears? Could've just kept it on screen the entire time I think!). All good other than that!
It was a tiny bit different, which is of course normal with a different editor, but otherwise it was great~ Agree with Staycakey, but yea those are just minor things
@@staycakey The transition is a bit weird but I can understand wanting something a bit more interesting than a standard wipe. It didn't really bother me but there are probably less "shaky" transitions they could use while spicing it up a bit. I do agree with your second point, and it makes even less sense considering the gameplay is of a Burn comp team (S11, Ben, Lucy) which isn't even relevant to the Polar Metal set. I guess the idea was that Gouba was talking about how every other Element sets buff all damage except this one so they showed Burn comp as an example but I think a better way would be to show the other sets to see a direct comparison. Like show the three other element sets on one side with a "Universal" tag or something and then show Polar Metal on the other and point out it's ONLY Basic & Dash Attacks. Also have the B-roll footage in the background be the Ice comp so it makes a bit more sense.
Probably should have mentioned that Freedom Blues can be used on a support character in the team of an anomaly character. I'm not sure how worth it that is, but it's definitely an option.
@@guobauncertified I'd argue it's more useful for non-Anomaly team support units compared to Swing Jazz 4pc. 15% DMG bonus is going to be largely diluted among the standard Crit DPS units like Zhu/Ellen/S11/Corrin/Billy/Neko because they have an absurd amount of built in DMG% bonuses in their base kit (Ellen has the lowest but Freeze is also arguably the least useful Anomaly currently and mono-Ice has no trouble triggering it). Letting them trigger the Anomalies that enable their 4pc set bonuses 20% faster is a pretty substantial boost especially when those teams don't run Anomaly units so they are going to be a bit lacking in the build-up department. I feel like the better consistency in ensuring you'll have Corruption/Burning up more frequently and more importantly during a Stun phase is better in the long run. There might also be some shenanigans you can pull with Piper because of how her EX works as a channeled skill. Since the set applies a debuff on any EX hit you can run it on Piper and cancel her EX spin on the first damage tick before it drains energy and only get the energy cost of her finisher while still applying the debuff which would help out other units that have higher cost EX skills effectively getting the bonus for only 20 energy.
@@CurlyBruce How is freeze the least useful anomaly for crit DPS? It's the only anomaly that gives a crit bonus, every other one is just weak DoT damage when getting hit with an ICD, it's the only anomaly that's good for non-anomaly characters.
@@Cr3zant Assault is more damage and increases Daze gain. Freeze is a minor CC (that wears off quickly because of Shatter) and only gives a flat +10% Crit Damage which is additive. The DoTs from Burn/Corruption/Shock are still strong even for Crit DPS units because they still scale off of ATK primarily. The only stat you don't get to utilize is Crit Rate, but all the ATK% and DMG% buffs characters get and use will apply to them which is why Corruption in Zhu Yuan comps is still beefy as hell. It won't be as strong as an Anomaly units because they aren't stacking Proficiency but even if it's only 3k per tick that's still more damage over the course of the entire DoT than you'd get from +10% Crit Damage.
@CurlyBruce - This is actually a very interesting take and not something I considered at all for Zhu Yuan regarding the ease and consistency of proccing the 4 piece chaotic metal buff. However, if you build anomaly proficiency on Nicole and kinda pay attention to how much ether anomaly you apply with both Zhu Yuan and Nicole, making sure to fill it up before the enemy is fully stunned, freedom blues might not be that impactful team dps wise over time? Especially if we get an ether stunner in the future which would make it even easier to passively cause ether corruption to an enemy without actively trying. Really wish we could get a TC database for zzz like kqm or something soon. If the difficulty of disputed shiyu 8 and the dps check S rank clears (eg. Shiyu critical 7 and the two new infamous obsidian quests) are any indication of future endgame content, I feel like theory crafting and how to optimally build various characters ASAP would help a lot of players enjoy their agents and maximize their use of resources right now!
Yeah I'm never setting foot in the Woodpecker domain. Elfy's got me covered lol. Kinda sucks for those who don't have Zhu Yuan tho, cause u kinda have to split your tuning between Swing Jazz and Woodpecker. I've got so many good Swing Jazz pieces that I'm temped to put 2pc on my DPSs sometimes tho I know they don't benefit much from ER% lol.

Nice video as always guoba! The editor did a great job, I didn't even think that someone else edited it. I was wondering if you're interested in making a dedicated video about the stats in zzz? I'd love to see your take on them since I'm still trying to wrap my head around them.
The disk sets is so uncomfortable to farm... Why all of them so opposite to each other ?😭 Especially after HSR where you can farm 4 elemental sets in one place
As usual with these games the initial sets will most likely unlock more of their potential as time goes on, new sets will come out but general ones always have their place here and there. Great guide, helps understanding a bit more the various roles and differences between them! Personally I'm intrigued by Anomaly and Defense gameplay, can't wait to have more characters of those to play with.
I was expecting a comment regarding the disk crafting feature in this game, e.g. a suggestion to use that for woodpecker electro because the soul rock set is so bad, but perhaps you wanted to make a separate video for that.
Rina-Corrin teams make things very weird and don't work well with the advice here. Corrin's signature w-engine throws the rules everyone else plays by out of the window, because it causes her EX special to just do more damage than her Ult on a very similar animation length, to the point that it can be worth it to give your team's ult to your Rina to generate energy for your Corrin so she can use another EX special, even before accounting for the damage dealt by the ult itself - and since Rina provides Res Pen with her Core Passive, Corrin can actually make use of a Res Pen mainstat, particularly for the EX special itself, where Corrin's signature w-engine is also drowning out damage amp. Additionally, due to Physical characters currently being exclusive to two roles there aren't really any team options that allow for use of the physical set, and Hormone Punk 4-piece may actually be the least awkward option because getting a basic attack into your burst damage rotation wastes valuable time on both Rina's Core Passive and the Stun window. As a final note, using this team core against specifically Twin Marionettes throws the rules out even harder than other fights - due to short Stun windows and high max Daze, using Rina's ult for energy is less than useful and Corrin's ult doesn't have any good windows to be used in, which can result in your ult going to your Stun unit by default - and in particular, the FINAL ult of that particular fight should generally go to them on most teams because their ults have extremely high raw interrupt power and can stagger the marionettes out of reviving their twin even if it doesn't apply enough Daze to stun.
Anomaly build up is still good. If you think of it as a support set. The Ether, Fire, and Electric sets require their Anomaly to be applied, so if you can apply it more often, you'll get an increase in those sets uptime. You just have to put some thought in to how you're applying your Anomaly.
I personally find Puffer Electro hilarious to use on Billy, stacking his internal buffs + Nicole&Lucy makes for some funny burst, even if it isn't the "perfect" option, most likely.
support characters actually have the highest ult multipliers compared to all other roles, and usually comes with other additional features like energy regen to all other party members.
Nice video Guobabeans! I still haven't even unlocked disk drives sadly but this info will help whenever I do. I am helping Belobog guys currently in the story if anyone can let me know how far after that I am from farming disk drives.
I will try to avoid "relics" as much as possible as I do on HSR lol, but I've been thinking this game doesn't give many free ones, so I'll have to farm at least some to make my chars a bit more functional. From what I saw in the discs, most of my chars want different domains completely.
before watching the video, at the start of the game I knew I wanted Zhu and I grinded pretty much every day til her release and I was good for her and any support after that, I did a week of the attack domain and ever since I have farmed the fire domain.
I have yet to find a tutorial that covers my main farming question. Between spending masters for random pulls, spending tuning calibrators for guaranteed main stats, and spending stamina farming drops, there are three different ways to gain drive discs with very different resources. So which method should I use for each type of drive disk? Where should i be spending those very valuable Tuning Calibrators?
You should use stamina to farm in the highest value stage for you (both sets are needed/valuable), then use the masters you get from disenchanting bad pieces to craft for sets in low value stages (like woodpecker), and use calibrators sparingly to finish off builds by crafting 4/5/6 slot pieces with the main stat you need.
With Lycaon and Sokaku and Ellen’s wengine. yes since her buffs total up to dmg%, res shred, and Ellen gets like 100% cdmg from her core passive, plus more crit from her wengine. So at that point pen is the only thing you’re missing a buff on.
Part of me wishes I'd gotten Ellen so that I'd have a reason to farm the Polar Metal Domain. But for now, I guess I'll stick to Bardic Needle to get my Freedom Blues Disks. Fingers crossed they release another Ice DPS soon, I'd like an excuse to farm that Domain.
there is a strategy fo simply shocking twice before proccing disorder to make use of thunder metal. atleast im my experince piper tends to be the bottleneck for my disorder team (she is only mc0) so double shocking does allow for higher quality disorders to make better use of my limited assult output. plus if you use irna, double shocking lets you still use rina's shock application without diluting the damage from your disorder by letting grace apply most of the second shock. you can even put freedom blues on rina to ge thte best of both sets. there are probably downsides im blind to, but i think theres merit for thunder metal on grace in disorder teams imo.
Not sure but, it kind of feels like Decibels ramp up somewhat faster-ish when using a full 4-piece Puffer set I've tried a lot of disc combinations for the 2nd implementation of Shiyu Critical 7th node (the one before the current, much MUCH easier one) And the only thing that allowed my Lv50 M6 Soukaku to clear the first round under 2 min 30 secs (and therefore get an S rank total) is by using 4 Puffer + 2 Woodpecker (with a very terrible Disc6 ATK% Puffer to boot)
As someone who's focusing on Zhu Yuan and Grace with Qingyi, Nicole and Rina as my supports, farming sets have never felt so good. Also prefarming for Jane Doe so even better for me lol Not complaining about farming Polar and Freedom Blues too since Freedom Blues can go to Grace and Jane while Polar metal can go to Miyabi in the future
I still feel like Polar Metal won't be better than Woodpecker on Miyabi even if she's primarily a Normal attack unit (ie. her EX skill is for utility and not damage). 18-27% Combat Attack is hard to pass up when a lot of Attack units have diluted DMG% bonuses built into their default kit. Plus even if Miyabi doesn't utilize her Skill/EX for damage that still leaves out her Chain Attack and Ultimate. It's just significantly more restrictive for no real reason compared to something like Fanged Metal which has similar conditions but is only 5% weaker while applying to ALL damage. I really think they should buff Polar Metal in someway like maybe making the bonus on Freeze/Shatter universal while keeping the 20% default bonus left to Basic/Dash attack. Or better yet, have the Freeze/Shatter bonus improve the Frostbite effect from +10% Crit Damage to +30% Crit Damage or something along those lines. So it acts as a middle ground between Fanged Metal and Corrupted Metal.
Since we have 6 slots, I've been thinking about just going 2-piece/2-piece/2-piece for some characters. Like, for Ellen I don't like the ice set 4-piece effect only applying to basics and charge attacks, and for the Woodpecker set, I find the 4-piece effect kind of annoying and restrictive to have to keep in mind when I'm in the middle of combat deciding how to string my attacks together to get optimal damage output. Plus I still haven't had the freedom or luck to farm out a crit ratio that makes the set more worthwhile. Three 2-piece effects might be the better way to go in the short term for some nice boosts that are always helpful and apply at all times for all attacks.
The 4pc effect on Woodpecker is a lot less restrictive than it seems. You don't need to worry about getting the full 27% bonus at all times since using Dash attacks during Ellen's burst phase is a big DPS loss anyway. You'll get the Basic + EX bonuses for free pretty much given the standard rotation of EX > N3 > repeat since her EX hits a decent number of times and her N3 hits like 10+ times. Because of the high volume of hits, even with just her default Crit Rate from ascension stats (around 20%, 28% with Woodpecker 2pc) you're basically guaranteed to get at least ONE Crit during those attacks and that's all you need to get the buff for 8s. It's not like you need to be constantly critting for the set to take effect, you just need one crit every 8s per activation condition which with an almost 30% Crit Rate by default is not that rare.
"And no, don't run PEN ratio main stat" Can you elaborate on this one? Because i often see posts, where people say that PEN ratio is more useful main stat if you have other sources for ATK and elemental DMG, like for Ellen with signature W-engine and Soukaku as a support.
@@guobauncertified my bad, thought that it was a general recommendation to not use PEN ratio at all. :D Would be cool to see a video about that topic tho. ATK vs elemental DMG vs PEN ratio. Love the way you explain things. Makes it easy to understand.
Freedom set is stronger for what u give it credit, it design to be play in Disorder team where u try to ping pong between 2 anomoly unit, hitting ICD on anomoly just mean u should change how u play ur team to maximize other anomoly build up in that time and avoid hitting ICD on 1 element
It is so easy to Thanos snap away all your disc mats at the music store. All it takes is a few seconds of malding and you're a destitute wretch with nothing to show for it.
9:27 im surprised lucy was mentioned, but not ben since i thought it was kinda obvious theyre supposes to be a dps the best person that ive seen utilize his dps aspect so far is rawrirune, search up their channel!! they blew off entire chunks with bens ult!!
Don't expect anything. Mostly junk for upgrade material. You still need some kind of min max to complete shiyu defense. If the attribute is not attack, it is useless
5:14 mmm hormones... also, do you think Jane would want the Fanged Metal set or the Freedom Blues set? I'd figure Seth can use FB to proc its condition and Jane + whatever third teammate can use their respective elemental set (or Swing Jazz if Rina/Lucy).
4P Freedom Blues Anomaly Buildup RES reduction only applies to the attribute of the wearer, so you'd need a Physical agent to run it if you want faster Assaults.
I'm quite confused (and dumb) with Fanged Metal set, does the 4-pc effect activate if the equipper proc Assault? Bc the description said squad member, I thought I need another unit to proc Assault to activate the 4-pc effect?
Very informative video! I´m struggling right now to decide on what I should rather farm for my mono-ice team. Right now I am using a 4-piece Puffer Electro set for Ellen. Should I rather switch over towards another set since you´ve mentioned the benefit being too conditional.
What drive discs should I farm for Jane? I'm torn between assault 4 + 2 energy regen or anomaly mastery Also do we know what notorious hunt mats she needs?
Sorry Noob Question I run Lucy, Piper, grace disorder team, currently run 4 set freedom blues on Piper and 4 thunder metal on Grace What optimal set i must use in this team to work ? should 4 freedom on Grace and 4 Fanged metal on Piper? or 4 fanged for piper and 4 thunder metal on grace?, i so confused (i watch your anomali video but still didn't clear enough how disorder proc, since my english is bad and its not my native language), and about 4 fanged on grace, i didn't practice enough yet, still didn't know when to change character
two questions if anyone knows the answer: 1. should jane doe run physical 4pc or anomaly 4pc in a disorder team? 2. if PEN% is bad unless stacked, does nicole’s passive of 40% DEF shred work as stacking PEN% since they do the same thing?
So something I'm still confused on is Fanged Metal's description: it says that the *Equipper* deals extra Damage once anyone has triggered Assault, not that Assault causes the victim to take extra Damage from all sources. Is the description basically misleading? Or am I intepreting it wrong? tl;dr Does Fanged Metal buff all team member damage against Assault victims or does it only buff damage for the Agent using the 4pc set?
Idk I'm on account level 51 now and I basically never touch disk drives. Looking at stamina we are not gonna have enough to effecfly farm disk drives anytime soon. (and I cleared hollow zero 100% with disk drives from music store). I'd rather go for character upgrades - even stunners and supports and get those all up to date. With the ressouce requirment for new units I don't see that changing unless hoyo changes how stamina / material amount works.
The normal attack % looks at youre Base Attack stat from the character. The combat attack% looks at youre base attack + normal attack stat. See it as a separate multiplier for damage. Its better to have more multipliers of damage that to dump everything in one and nothing in the other.
swing jazz for any support, woodpecker electro for any crit dps, shockstar for any stun. ben bigger is a support. for anomaly characters you want their respective elemental disc, so fanged for piper/jane and thunder for grace. (anton would also prefer thunder to woodpecker with how his passive works)
[Freedom Jazz / Chaotic Metal] and [Shockstar Disco / Thunder Metal] Freedom Jazz speaks for itself as 20% Energy Regen is useful on every unit making it very flexible as a 2-set. Shockstar Disco is similar with Impact/Daze, as they're clearly going to balance enemies assuming stunners have as much as possible. 2-set (or Impact [6]) Hijinks on DPS may even become a thing to hit particular breakpoints or timings. Thunder Metal is also very usable off-element as it can be used on any unit assuming high Shock Uptime. The inherent variability of Shock application based on your exact team, as well as Electric units having comparatively high [4][6] mainstat flexibility also means it benefits from farming a bunch of different pieces. Then you can use your Discs on Woodpecker Electro.
Honestly i can easily/comfortably clear endgame content, i dont see the point to farm more drive discs either, rn im just farming for other characters just so i can have more flexible teams to have fun with
I love zzz so much and your guides are super helpful but I’m not sure if I’ll continue playing since I got notice I may be banned for the refund of the 1.0 battle pass I bought in the first week of the game even though I didn’t refund it or receive a refund and I’ve spent like $400cad on the game…

@@Arunika1 ok, I miss understood
there is a strategy fo simply shocking twice before proccing disorder to make use of thunder metal. atleast im my experince piper tends to be the bottleneck for my disorder team (she is only mc0) so double shocking does allow for higher quality disorders to make better use of my limited assult output.
plus if you use irna, double shocking lets you still use rina's shock application without diluting the damage from your disorder by letting grace apply most of the second shock. you can even put freedom blues on rina to ge thte best of both sets.
there are probably downsides im blind to, but i think theres merit for thunder metal on grace in disorder teams imo.
I feel like no one agrees if Piper should use a four piece Fanged Metal or 4 piece Freedom Blues.
Well for what i see , disorder with grace or bernice fredom blues , when solo anomaly 4p fanged
Not sure but, it kind of feels like Decibels ramp up somewhat faster-ish when using a full 4-piece Puffer set
I've tried a lot of disc combinations for the 2nd implementation of Shiyu Critical 7th node (the one before the current, much MUCH easier one)
And the only thing that allowed my Lv50 M6 Soukaku to clear the first round under 2 min 30 secs (and therefore get an S rank total)
is by using 4 Puffer + 2 Woodpecker (with a very terrible Disc6 ATK% Puffer to boot)
Tip: Dont pre farm Ceasar and Burnice relic set
As someone who's focusing on Zhu Yuan and Grace with Qingyi, Nicole and Rina as my supports, farming sets have never felt so good. Also prefarming for Jane Doe so even better for me lol
Not complaining about farming Polar and Freedom Blues too since Freedom Blues can go to Grace and Jane while Polar metal can go to Miyabi in the future
Zhu Yuan makes farming so nice lol due to swing + ether
Save for the two new sets coming in 1.2.
Apart from that can't go wrong with shockstar discos and woodpecker electros.
One of the new sets will also be impact so shockstar 4pc will no longer be good except for qingyi.
"And no, don't run PEN ratio main stat"
Can you elaborate on this one? Because i often see posts, where people say that PEN ratio is more useful main stat if you have other sources for ATK and elemental DMG, like for Ellen with signature W-engine and Soukaku as a support.
I meant dont run PEN% main stat just cause you have a PEN% Puffer 2 Piece.
It can be better / on par in rare cases (mostly just Rina comps rn)
@@guobauncertified my bad, thought that it was a general recommendation to not use PEN ratio at all. :D
Would be cool to see a video about that topic tho. ATK vs elemental DMG vs PEN ratio. Love the way you explain things. Makes it easy to understand.
Thanks man
Fist and Gun ftw
Freedom set is stronger for what u give it credit, it design to be play in Disorder team where u try to ping pong between 2 anomoly unit, hitting ICD on anomoly just mean u should change how u play ur team to maximize other anomoly build up in that time and avoid hitting ICD on 1 element
But in the vid I state it can be powerful for Disorder comps and I have the graphic that says Disorder team with Grace
just saw EOD face reveal. you gotta do it next!
i’m menace and keep freedom blues on supports and swing jazz on stunners😂
I think freedom blues is underrated for nicole, especially if you don't use an ether bangboo
It is so easy to Thanos snap away all your disc mats at the music store. All it takes is a few seconds of malding and you're a destitute wretch with nothing to show for it.
Can you put the anomaly set on attack characters that you want to build for anomaly teams (I plan to build Anton on that set with Jane and Seth)
9:27 im surprised lucy was mentioned, but not ben since i thought it was kinda obvious theyre supposes to be a dps
the best person that ive seen utilize his dps aspect so far is rawrirune, search up their channel!! they blew off entire chunks with bens ult!!
I am a mad man ig
DPS lucy ftw
Been running freedom blues on anby for anton team since i dont have grace i think its been working good hehe
Have a go bidet!
Zhu Yuan haver here. Guess where I've been from ik 45 to 48 (32/184 right now with starlight engine, so I left for the time being)
IM HERE
Don't expect anything.
I'm torn between assault 4 + 2 energy regen or anomaly mastery
Also do we know what notorious hunt mats she needs?
Physical 4pc + Whatever 2pc with the best substats for the drive discs
Ferocious Grip for the hunt mats
Sorry Noob Question
I run Lucy, Piper, grace disorder team, currently run 4 set freedom blues on Piper and 4 thunder metal on Grace
What optimal set i must use in this team to work ? should 4 freedom on Grace and 4 Fanged metal on Piper? or 4 fanged for piper and 4 thunder metal on grace?, i so confused (i watch your anomali video but still didn't clear enough how disorder proc, since my english is bad and its not my native language), and about 4 fanged on grace, i didn't practice enough yet, still didn't know when to change character
Polar metal best match with Gilded Blossom
None of them are perfect so I will just spam Puffer Electro for now. Specially in Hollow since you can fish for the canned coffee set
why'd they do the ice set like that lol
Should i skip qingyi since anby work the same?
two questions if anyone knows the answer: 1. should jane doe run physical 4pc or anomaly 4pc in a disorder team? 2. if PEN% is bad unless stacked, does nicole’s passive of 40% DEF shred work as stacking PEN% since they do the same thing?
Def reduction and pen% are anti-synergy. The more def the enemy has the better pen% is. You should stack one or the other.
Physical 4pc
Anomaly 4pc shred anomaly build res, but Seth already do that
What good dps characters can I use in I don't have elen or zhu yuan
My only 5 stars are grace and qingyi
So something I'm still confused on is Fanged Metal's description: it says that the *Equipper* deals extra Damage once anyone has triggered Assault, not that Assault causes the victim to take extra Damage from all sources. Is the description basically misleading? Or am I intepreting it wrong?
tl;dr Does Fanged Metal buff all team member damage against Assault victims or does it only buff damage for the Agent using the 4pc set?
Its the equipper only
@@guobauncertified Oooh I think I understand now, I was misinterpreting the video when it was explaining use-cases for the 4-set. Thanks!
I though a team with Rina would benefit more from PEN% main stat. Is that a misconception ?
Rina alone is not enough to make a disc 5 PEN% main stat better than DMG main stat
But it doesn't mean the DMG main stat is always better
Does hormone punk 2 pc help for support dps buff(lucy, shokaku)?
Yes
Can anyone explain to me why exactly "combat" atk is much better?
The normal attack % looks at youre Base Attack stat from the character.
The combat attack% looks at youre base attack + normal attack stat.
See it as a separate multiplier for damage.
Its better to have more multipliers of damage that to dump everything in one and nothing in the other.
So which one is most universal to farm
swing jazz for any support, woodpecker electro for any crit dps, shockstar for any stun. ben bigger is a support. for anomaly characters you want their respective elemental disc, so fanged for piper/jane and thunder for grace. (anton would also prefer thunder to woodpecker with how his passive works)
[Freedom Jazz / Chaotic Metal] and [Shockstar Disco / Thunder Metal]
Freedom Jazz speaks for itself as 20% Energy Regen is useful on every unit making it very flexible as a 2-set.
Then you can use your Discs on Woodpecker Electro.
i am farming that defense set for my Queen Caesar
Currently I don't even want to farm anything xD Starting to get that repititive burnout when reached 60.
Honestly i can easily/comfortably clear endgame content, i dont see the point to farm more drive discs either, rn im just farming for other characters just so i can have more flexible teams to have fun with
What will be the best combination of sets for Jane please?
According to other videos, it's 4 piece fanged metal (physical set) and 2 piece freedom blues (anomaly set)

Late. Maybe shouldve waited a patch
You could've just made a concise tldr and just show a list of which Character wants to use what Set instead of this long as yippity yapping
if you wanted a tldr just read the set bonus effects in game
