    Always loved the Koreans Judo. Best part about this sport is the different variations in techniques and how each country is known for doing their signature throw.

    Love this video series! Any explanations as to why the Koreans have specialised in a relatively small number of techniques?

      Might fit their typical physique (relatively short legs and narrow shoulders compared to Europeans on average) more? But the same goes for Japanese who like uchi mata much more so not sure.

      @@juhyeong0303 i’ve heard the same thing: because historically korean judokas have had success with seoi-nage alone, there is the tendency to focus on this technique when teaching at dojos

      I'm practicing judo in Korea and as far I can see in this country they prefer to specialized in something rather than know many things but not well done. It is aplied not only in judo but in their normal life as well.

    The interesting thing about An Changrim is he grew up doing judo in Japan. He was teammates with Nagase who i feel is not a typical Japanese style judoka. So I'm wondering if An's style was always the way it was on the Korean team or was it different when he was doing judo in Japan? Some food for thought 🤔

    • @JudoHighlights2015
      @JudoHighlights2015  Před 2 lety +3

      He’s always done judo like this. I think even living in Japan, he was inspired by Korean judoka and adopted their style. Interestingly, Nagase and An both do a ashi guruma in a similar way. Maybe one learned from the other?

      Match is over when someone land flat on their back (ippon), the match is continued when they land on their shoulder or if they land on 1/2 of their back (wazari)
