20-25 miles a week and is a top 2 cross runner in the nation… insane

I mean.....that's a pretty typical training regimen. I don't know why people think NCAA runners just do a ton of junk miles

Remember during the NCAA track championships five months ago when just missed winning the 5,000 title, coming in second to Tuohy, and we found out she had only been running for two weeks because of a serious injury?

That's incredible, and shows us the amount of fitness we can take from cross training. Of course we still need to run, but this can be a key for less injuries and equal quality in the future of athletes.

Parker Valby has that 'David Rudisha, catch me if you can, mindset. A great asset in the running world.

I don't think it has been reported. In June, prior to NCAA outdoor, it was two broken bones in her foot.

Valby mentioned foot fractures in her interview after the 2nd pace to Tuohy.

Not taking anything away from Parker's stellar performance this season (especially @regionals) but...she will be facing two grizzled XC vets in Chmiel and Touhy, both at the top of their games and most daunting, able to work together the entire race. It will be a great race no matter, but I just can't see Parker overcoming that dynamic duo.

He clearly understands what tangents are but during PV's interview after the XC championship and her failure to win, she had a half dozen reasons (excuses), one of which was not having been taught how to run tangents. So, did Chris not teach her, did she not listen, did she forget or is she not telling the truth? I lost a lot of respect for Parker after that interview. She should be like Katelyn and just own up to having been beaten by someone who was better than she was that day, as was the case with the 5k last summer that she lost also to Katelyn. I don't believe that PV has the heart, the work ethic, the raw talent that KT has and I don't believe that Parker will ever beat her.

This didn't age well. Twice now in a month Parker has beaten KT. Neither races were close. Why were you even here watching and commenting. This video is about Parker -- not Katelyn.

How Chris can not pull top recruits to UF is insane. Boys team is terrible and has been for 5-7 years, girls team not AS bad but only riding the curtails of Valby. Such a huge UF fan, and to see what they are doing to this program has had me pissed for years. Miss the years of Mark Parrish, Jimmy Clark, Mat Miz, the list goes on. FL National finalists, now recruiting no names. And he hasnt been able to develop damn near any of them

@@arneGz-32y When they had top Florida talent they were good. Made Nationals, competed at SEC's, now they finish 18th out of 22 teams. Dont need to go out and grab kenyans, just need to recruit top florida talent and develop them. They are pulling guys with high 15-16min high school 5k times when they used to get 14-low 15 min guys

@@OfficialSayyeauAgreed. Anyone can ‘coach’ a Kenyan or any other athlete who’s already elite/world class. It takes a truly good coach to develop potential. Look at OKState. Stillwater isn’t a destination, but Dave Smith has developed a winning program--men AND women.
