Nice work on a rare tool build. We shared this video on our homemade tools forum this week 😎
Honestly cant remember the last time i saw some one use a file in a blacksmith video let alone case hardening something , well done for keeping it real m8 .
Such clean precise work. Very beautiful.
Visually impressive, and I’m sure it’s just as tactilely pleasing .. great work 🍻🍻

What was that stuff you were scooping onto the spike?
And why didn't you just stick the spike into the bucket?
*I use the brand: "Cherry red" for the case-hardening powder.
Clinical to the point of personality disorder!
What was the powder you put on it?
case-hardening compound(cherry red)
Why not just dip it into the case hardner?
Not suggesting, asking.
That could work, sure. I sprinkle on to save on material.
@@rigoniironworks yeah I’m guessing Mr. Pete has 5 gals of it in 1/2 full quart cans acquired, here, there & everywhere; that’s why he did it…
Great Scott !!! 1.21 Giga Watt for a beautiful "nail"
Really not interested in power hammer production.
I watch power hammer videos so that I can think about how rich people beat iron while I'm beating it with hand powered hammers. Actually, I've learned a few good tricks while watching the power hammer guys. My best 'trick' was to take on an apprentice for awhile and teach him how to do the monkey work, occasionally guiding him through the finish of whatever we were making in order to keep him interested. He decided to go back to driving a forklift at a distribution company.
Using a power hammer effectively takes just as much skill as using a regular hammer. The thing I really like about this channel is the fusion of the blacksmith and the machinist. There's a hundred other traditional blacksmith channels but this channel is unique.
