CAMEL, English progressive rock band formed in the 70's.
Lady Fantasy is probably CAMEL's most well known song, representing them very well :)
From their second album Mirage.
To upload the whole song I had to part it into two pieces:
Part 1: • CAMEL - Lady Fantasy (...
Part 2: • CAMEL - Lady Fantasy (...
All credits go to CAMEL and Deram Records.
I ONLY UPLOADED THE SONG FOR PEOPLE THAT DO NOT KNOW CAMEL's MUSIC TO LISTEN TO IT, IF YOU LIKE IT YOU SHOULD GO AND BUY THEIR MUSIC!
No copyright violation intended. - Hudba
Used to have this album. Great to hear the song again. One of my faves from the old days listening to KSHE here in St. Louis.
Yes, indeed. I lived in St. Louis as well in the 70s, and KSHE played great stuff. Camel, Jade Warrior, Iron Butterfly, The Doors (Celebration of the Lizard in its entirety), Rare Bird, Nektar, and countless more. Don't live there anymore, but I've had friends tell me KSHE has gotten less progressive, more commercialized, and more predictable. The cost of success I suppose.
I'm 64 years old and this is one of my favorite Camel songs 🙂
Class act. Norm ,saw in Preston, 1976
Always been my fav band after seening them in the early 70's
Probably one of my 5 favorites in the prog world.
Great keyboard and Gibson Les Paul solos.
The debut guitar riff is bringing tears to my eyes.
Tears are running down in streams over my cheeks-I have been working as a roawdy for them back in 1972....Lyon in france up to Paris..what a georgous time that was!
Times that never ever come back!
Omg... im 14 and this is the first time I listen to Camel... and its awesome!
Thanks youtube, thanks to you im not listening to mainstream shit !
This song rocks!! I haven't heard it since the 70's and it's as awesome as ever!! Wow!!

I saw Camel's 20th anniv show in san jose ca,. I hear Andy Latimer is very ill or has passed. Im not sure. But I was blessed to see them perform. Onother band underated.
Музыка! Это та, что должна существовать, быть. Это незабываемо, слушал с начала появления этого альбома и до сего дня...

You must be a kid. Camel was rocking befor Spinal Tap ever existed! Saw the 20th annvrsy tour,Santa Clara,Ca.Andy pulled up in a mini van, nobody new who he was cept me and Russell.

De las mejores canciones de la historia de la música.

I love them too, so much...
Gracias, Gracias!!
Muy buenisima musica
@EliteOps1 ... branch of the cigarette company to release tiny packets of cigarettes (5 cigarettes to a packet) using the CAMEL artwork, including track-listing. So enamoured were the executives in Europe, they visited the band in the studio trying to talk CAMEL into renaming the songs on 'MIRAGE' (e.g., "Twenty To The Pack"). They also wanted CAMEL to cover their amps with camel skins, allow advertisements and give away cigarettes at all the performances. The latter was successful as Jukes ...
amazing,true amazing music !!
amazing,amazing,amazing!
It's really great to see people so young enjoying such wonderful music. Guy's try some of these: Ambrosia, Brand X, Chicago, Frank Zappa, Yes, Moody Blues, Firesign Theatre, The Who. There are many more so keep looking......Long live good ol Rock N Roll
I just scored this on vinyl over the weekend by accident, good stuff!
Love this album!
Great music from a great band!
je ne pensais qu'il y avait encore des amateurs de CAMEL nés après 1970 ! En tout cas merci Jo de me rappeler à mes souvenirs de jeunesse
Un autre Jo..sé 48 ans mais always the same !!!
Né en 1979 et j'adore cette musique!
It's for stereo audio. Will be most noticeable through headphones, but there is definitely a difference.
get the debut release from 1973. awesome album. So is this one.
ŚWIETNE!!! STARSZE ODE MNIE. :)
Thanks, a fantastic music piece, i like a lot Peter Bardens and the band is great to
@EliteOps1 ... had struck a deal the band were never privy to. The band were getting 'belligerent' and a sarcastically amusing Peter Bardens suggested an album song-title of "Twenty Sticks Of Cancer".
Thus ended the association twixt the beast and the leaf."
love it
that beginning is so classic
@jcast18k Lady Fantasy was the first song I heard from Camel too :) It was so random, I was bored and opened up Limewire and did a search for 'fantasy'! This song came up, and it changed my life. I listen to completely different music now, than what I used to. I don't like most mainstream music either, but I never did before.
great song
@4:00 FTW. What a choooooon....
@ceasingseason Camel changed my life too, i heard "Nimrodel", and it was like falling in love to music, so much feelings and new discovery...
i was introduced to this band by Mikael Akerfeldt...
i listened to Ending Credits and i never gave this band a shot til about 10 minutes ago. lol
me too but trough Benighted and The similarity to Never Let Go
the best band on earth
@ceasingseason Same happened to me... but i was on the street when i heard this song... changed my life... like falling in love to music...
Saw them at the Free Trade Hall, wat seems centurise ago, Andy Lattermer was exelent, along with the rest ov em.
@NeverLetItGo1989
Agreed.... The drummer left right fter the mkin started getting good. Andy Wards a hardass!
How in the world could be moth....ckers giving dislikes to this wonderful song ????
@DeIMarrrrr Yeah, I always knew about Camel, but I never really explored their music till at the end of "Ending Credits" Akerfeldt said "it's totally ripped off of a band called Camel," that prompted me to explore their music more. So props to Akerfeldt.
Maybe they are more unknown than underrated, who can hear them and not see their quality?
i dont fucking believe this... how could i never heard of this band? masterpiece track... what a progressive rock god!
FOR THE STEREO AUDIO ADD &fmt=18 TO THE END OF ANY CZcams LINK!
CAMEL - DECCA - DERAM RULESSSSS!!!!!
Listen to Caravan as well. Also an awesome band. Their 1968 album and Land of Grey and Pink are awesome.
abs
first time I listen to Camel and I´d already compare them with Yes and King Crimson...amazing song!!!
Отлично
This is a great song, which kind of reminds me of a band I've heard a few days ago, Aperco. Hear the similarity at their channel apercoband
They certainly are good Music from the 70's as a progressive rock. You should hear Hattfield and the North, Tangerine Dreams amd Ralph Towner, PFM Premiata Fermatta Marconi, Brand X and some others.
2020
@andi19902112 im happy to see more and more people talk about ''The Grand Green'' =) they are absolutely amazing and i hope they get more attention in the months to come! Im happy to have discovered them =P
@EliteOps1 Quote from the band's official website camelproductions . com: "Their second album, 'MIRAGE', heightened their profile and the album sleeve attracted the unwanted attention of the USA branch of Camel cigarettes who demanded the band change the cover or face legal action. The USA record company quickly fashioned a new sleeve to avoid legal hassles. The original sleeve remained unchanged throughout the rest of the world as Geoff Jukes had already struck a deal with the European ...
This isn't great. It isn't good. It's FU***** AWESOME! One of my all time favourite songs, by my all time favourite band.
Is the album art supposed to be an advertisement for Camel cigarettes? Regardless, I love both Camels!
@NeverLetItGo1989 Agree!
@dmarlo995 I think it would be hard to confuse Camel with the Doors, but both are in the upper echelon of rock groups for sure!
@andi19902112 Other new bands in this vain are Astra, who is absolutely amazing, and Diagonals, who is also incredible. I highly reccomend them.
@jcast18k this is my first time listening to camel but i was a prog rocker since grade 5 loved 2112 back then still do of course and mainstream is a joke and im 15
@eimaisklhros thanks! whould you tell me which are their best songs?
sorry for my bad english ;)
lady fantasy is the second glimpse of what was coming with the snow goose a year later, and moonmadness another year after that. the first glimpse is nimrodel, IMO.
Prog Rock
why is this album not on iTunes?!?
Sounds to me like there's something wrong with the audio track here, almost like if it were just one channel in mono on both channels.
7:00-9:35 -> this is fantasy....
@TheCptnDan Yes, I love that album... its much more psicodelic and experimental than Mirage... thanks!
Anyway I think their best album is In the court of the crimson king ^^
@jcast18k
Check King crimson!!!! You'll love em kid.
and Phish if your ever into festivals. das where da happens at!
@NeverLetItGo1989 They're not all that underated they were a huge influence on other prog bands like opeth and porcupine tree. Not to mention they're loyal cult following. They still deserve more of a fanbase though.
I Kept hearing about CAMEL, and just kept putting it off..
Once I heard them.. I Think that they are about as great as YES!!
Why werent they ever given a Major Label?
I am sure that this has been ansered before too!!
But again please?
ALİ ECE, BURALARDAYSAN SELAM OLSUN SANA
Sounds EXACTLY the same to me...
Canterbury prog!
@papynou48 c'est fou comment ils sont sous-estimer ce groupe non? je veux dire.. Camel est l'un des plus forts groupes des annees soixantes-dix, et aujourd'hui cest un peu comme si ils ne sont jamais exister!
@crybabyplz yes they do =)
Andy Latimer!
yeah and warhol was an advertising exec for cambells soup.
@jcast18k hmm just listen to some albums...CAMEL, MIRAGE, THE SNOW GOOSE,(their first 3 albums)from NUDE listen the song LIES and DON'T MISS THE- STATIONARY TRAVELER!! that's all the albums i have listened from them so i recomend all of them to you..i'll check out all the their other discography some time.
@NeverLetItGo1989 not sure about that one man, no one gives Gentle Giant or Van Der Graaf Generator credit for shit. though Camel's first four albums are ace no matter what.
@jimmywires500 You'd be surprised how many :( Too bad for them :)
Spinal Tap?! hahaha "a long time ago, the druids rules the lands, the dwarves donced 'round stone'enge, [flutes playing]"
I might look into buying a few camel records or cds or something now.
The beginning sounds very much like The Who except the keyboard is reeeeeeally annoying.
@Bill99Cass or better Caravan, Banco del Mutuo Soccorso, Area, PFM, Le ORME, Emerson Lake and Palmer, Soft machine and much other
@Malkmusianful AMG rates on reputation, not on actual music
if anyone here likes rap, there is a sample of this song @ exactly 6:40 on oz's and lbs by wiz khalifa..its a great song
OMG I`ts sounds like "Ted Gärdestad´s" "Ge en sol" xD
@nick40nick40 You're welcome :)
C/\MEL - L/\DY F/\NT/\SY
Listen very carefully, my words are about to unfold
Concerning a lady I've seen but I never could hold
I can see by your smile,
Take a long while,
The words that come through,
I see that they're true,
For she reminds me of you.
Don't misunderstand me, it's not always easy to say
The words in your head and your heart that you just can't explain
I can see clearly,
A face in the sky,
Moon's in your eye,
You're passing me by.
Tell me the reason why.
I can see clearly,
A face in the sky,
Moon's in your eye,
You're passing me by.
Saw you riding on a moon cloud,
Saw you walking on a whirlpool,
From the corner of my eye,
I saw you.
Saw you sitting on a sunbeam,
In the middle of my daydream,
Oh my Lady Fantasy,
I love you.
Ambrosia? For real? Do they have good stuff? Apart from "You're The Biggest Part Of Me" ballad, I don't know much about that band. I'll check Firesign Theatre.
Ambrosia followed a similar trajectory to The Alan Parsons Project. Their first couple albums (notably _Somewhere I've Never Travelled_) were lightly progressive; then they drifted away from that into more straightforward pop.
btw bilet varsa 22sine ulaşın kankiler
...why did AMG 2.5/5 this?
This sounds like sex.
Too long of solos in mid song but still a great time
やっぱりタバコの箱だったんだよ。
No I don't think so :S Sounds good to me :) But it is only 128 kbps unfortunately...
