One thing not mentioned is Randy had a stroke 10 years ago and can no longer sing. So this is a first and a good use of AI. What they did was had AI figure out his voice by listening to songs recorded before his stroke. They got an acclaimed well known singer to sing the song sounding as best he could like Randy. They turned it over to AI with help of Randy, his producer, recording engineers, etc. It was a complicated process but they believe they created the first new song by Randy Travis in about a decade. Think of it like a runner who loses his leg and then keeps competing with a prosthesis. In this case Randy needed a voice prosthesis and they found it in AI. They are working on an entire album of new songs. Amazing. He was a superstar back in the day with a large audience that kept loving him even after he could no longer perform. He's elderly but not old. There's no telling where this goes from here in the music industry. I suspect it will have both good and bad effects.

Maybe it's the bias of my own experiences, but I interpreted it as he had the perfect girl and something happened to separate them (like SHE left HIM, or maybe she DIED), and though he tried to move on, he can't get over her. Essentially the AI has constructed this new song electronically from the available information it was given.

I don’t care if people are scared of AI I am just really happy Randy can still work on new songs/lyrics and they be able to clone a likeness of his voice with the help of a base singer and AI software. I straight up LOVE this song and the weeks/months it took to make it happen were so well spent and appreciated. You can see the smile and approval in Randy’s face on the music video. ❤❤❤
