Following on from our video of 2 stallions and a mare driving together, this film shows 2 mares being driven either side of a stallion. As the shire stallion has covered mares, it also shows that both sexes can be driven together even when the stallion has been used for breeding. All 3 are being driven in soft rubber bits, and this is the first time they have been driven alongside each other, as well as being the first time they have been driven as a three-abreast formation.
The shire stallion belongs to a client in Switzerland, and the Boulonnais mares belong to a gamekeeper in Belgium who wants to us them for pleasure, commercial and agricultural work.
Stallions can be given a bad name for being difficult to handle, especially when they have been standing at stud, or have covered mares. As you never know when you could meet a stallion, or indeed a mare, while at a show for example, we feel that regardless of whether the horse is a mare, gelding or stallion, they should still remain well-behaved and responsive around any other horse.

Love this man! He has to be the MOST interesting horseman I have watched yet, and I have watched a few! Love the "carriages"(not sure if that is what they are called?) that the horses pull. To bad I live in America or I would love to come and see him and learn a thing or two!

You say it is easy, because it is easy to you. So you think it can't be that hard. But it is. Every time I see you working stallions with mares in season, or coming into season I am left wondering: why is this man not charging for us to watch these videos? They are priceless.

Perhaps we should, Anna! We're hoping to make some in-depth DVDs on topics for purchase, but we will keep our CZcams channel running for free!

I noticed that he doesn't have the harness that goes under the tail on the mares. Anyone know why that is?
