We had a racoon take a pork tenderloin RIGHT OFF THE GRILL on the Buffalo River once... My husband was SO MAD!! That is a super cool spot y'all found! I tried looking on the map for that general area... no luck. The crystals were also a great find! My husband's family are obsessed with finding crystals. We find them all over his parent's property near Lake Norrell... (part of that band that spans the country as formentioned on an earlier blog) I hope to run into y'all out and about someday, we could probably share camping stories for hours. I swear Cody and my husband are so much alike, they could be related. HAHA!! That "Amelioooo!!" part made me chuckle because he says that too. Night at the Roxbury is a really funny movie!

There's a short little 14 mile trail running from Blakely Dam in Mountain Pine to Crystal Springs. It's been a while since I hiked it, but I think it crossed Bear Creek at one point. That may have been the trail you guys came across. If that's even the right Bear Creek.. There's like 5 of them in Garland county
Ok we will can look into that. The Ouachita hiking trail was all over that area.

If you haven’t figured it out yet the reason you have wooden spatulas is because they are the best thing to use for scraping and cleaning cast iron and carbon steel pans.
Oh ok. I have not noticed that yet. I still clean it with the metal spatula just to make sure all the grim is out

Philly cheese steaks look fantastic.
On my best day I couldn't eat 4 pieces of French toast! Where do you put it?!
I know it's lazy, but Walmart sells crushed garlic that's been frozen and put into little garlic-shaped trays that you just pop out and use as needed They are great for me because it seems I buy garlic use a couple clothes and then it sits until it goes bad when I need it the next time. That and the frozen seasoning blend that they sell at Walmart is great too especially for camping
We have seen the garlic before once. Kinda forgot about it. Now we never knew about the frozen seasoning. Thanks for the info.
Going to make my first trip out that way in a couple of weeks. Are there are particular trails or campsite you would recommend for primitive camping?

Great video as always guys. Question as a guy (me) who does all the cooking home and away, can Cody cook? I’ve tried a few of the recipes and they are great. Had to put a wee Scottish twist to some of them but, banana pancakes and pasta dishes are my favourites.

You two are doing some nice work with your videos....we really like them. Your reviews of camping products, suggestions about safety and good camping common sense are great! There isn’t allot of people doing videos on camping in tents...so we find it refreshing that you’re doing what you do! I do have a question, when you buy a new tent, or as part of tent maintenance, do you seal the seams of the tent with a sealer? I’m sorry to ask if you have already addressed the question.....but because you do so much tent camping......I figure I’ll go with what you recommend!
Thanks for watching and the kind words! We have not used a sealer. I’m guessing it’s for the zipper? Either way our tents seem to last us a few years and that’s with us using it every weekend.
Thanks for your reply. A friend of mine was adamant about sealing all seams (including the zipper) with a liquid sealer. He doesn’t use it every weekend, but he has had it for 10 plus years. So thanks again Cody & Kelley.....keep on trucking!
I would have motion detectors up at night. They are inexpensive and easy to use.
It's not a matter of if you are going to have a problem, but rather when one is going to happen.
I even use them deer hunting at times so I know they are coming.

Hi Kelly! How long did it take you to get the hang of camping cooking? This was our first season camping and we struggled in the food department. We did only campfire cook and I noticed you tend to use your cooker, but any tips and tricks or go-to recipes to start with? Love your channel!!
We use the cooker so much because we are busy doing activities during the day. We noticed it takes a while to build up coals to cook on the fire. I realized I can cook camping exactly like I do at home. The easiest recipes are one pot dishes like pasta.

I am planning a trip to Ouachita National Forest I have a question or two. First some info about me. I will be traveling in a van. I am handicapped so I can't walk very far but I do have a mobility scooter that is capable of going off road to some extent, it is about 2 feet wide and 55 inches long and I can go about oh 15 miles. Now for the questions, I like photographing waterfalls so I was wondering if you could point me to some waterfalls that I could get to. Second question the beginning of November too late to go to that area I don't mind the cold I just don't want snow.

Go pro for regular shots and the iPhone for the close up footage
@@CodyandKellie I don't have an iPhone, but did buy a GoPro 8. I haven't used it much, because to be honest, I don't know what I'm doing.
When I was in Colorado tent camping in an RV park south of Lake City, a bear came into my camp. My bad, I was not feeling well and went into my tent to lay down, fell asleep and did not put my food boxes and ice chest in my car and I was woken by the bear. I started yelling and blowing my whistle and it ran away. It didn’t eat all my food but it did make a big mess. It also got away with a bag of spices. When I was in mississippi, a raccoon came in to my camp and I had everything to where the raccoon couldn’t get into it but I had hung my trash and obviously not high enough and the raccoon was determined to get into that trash I made noises a tried whatever I could to make that raccoon go away, Finally I just gave up and went to bed.
Oh that’s scary! The food will get them every time. We have had lots of raccoon issues even if we don’t leave food out.
