They may be way better drivers than I but I sure as hell could teach better lol I'd say to learn you have to learn to kick the back out a little bit and exit the drift safely only then progressively can you increase the speed and angle. Great show though.. going for the "just slam the throttle and try to catch it" approach is sure to get some exciting Nissan vs wall action lol

You should slowly develop a relationship with your car before learning to balance it on the limit, obviously the presenters knew this when the one girl said she hadn't driven a manual in years; she might as well have never drove a car.
I know a lot of internet drivers, say this is easy. I can tell you first hand it is not. I learned using a 08 crown Victoria interceptor spec. however its is one of those things like riding a bike once you get it: you GET it. I don't think it matters male or female, its not something you learn in an hour of training. . it took me two weeks of 4 hour classes to navigate the course they had with 9 bends(18 trasfers). that's 40 hours of class time, which im told is pretty standard for anyone to reach their prime requsites benchmarks. mike hawks adv driving school in Poway.

drifting is 80% throttle 20% steering... no matter how well you steer no matter how much you countersteer, you will not be able to keep the loss of control under control, if your flooring the shit out of the throttle.. throttle control...

Some ppl, like me even as a kid i was leaning forwards on my bikes handlebars locking rear tire up to slide, and u get that feeling of over steer. A lot of girls that never rode bikes, quads, go-carts, etc dont.
to drift perfectly you press L1 or R1 then immediately press it again and hold it this time and then just steer using directional left or right and remember not to hold left or right for too long or you will either exit the drift or spin in that direction :D

The very first thing someone should be learning when drifting is before they even get on the track. Weight distribution and learning how to throw the front of the car sideways to kick out the back is crucial for drifting.

I did notice that they were taking the corners a little slow. That's not a low-speed corner, and yet they were taking it in second gear, I think it was. Or was it third. Either way, they needed a lot more speed for it. But that still doesn't explain to me why everyone is making these jokes.

I know how to drift, yet, I've never done a donut. My car has an open diff and only around 100hp, so it's quite hard to drift, I have to do a lot of weight transfer, and due to it having an open diff I never even tried to do a donut.. Just gonna one wheel peel it
Seriously, for an average person, pulling off a drift on the first session is a pipe dream. So they managed to grasp initiation, and one of them almost managed to catch it. The third and most difficult bit - exiting a drift - is well, something for next time!
