Have purchased them in the past, amongst other FD foods.. but I’m seeing lower quality MREs being sold out of the box, without the TTI on the case box being available… especially out of Puerto Rico and 10 years old or older..Puerto Rico has suffered LONG power outages in the past 10 years..thus increasing the risk of high heat exposure to already older cases in storage..just my two cents.

Those gamma and x rays will go through any cheap plastic/rubber whatever suits. Depends on where you are vs whatever is emitting the nastiness. Beta and alphas will get stopped depending.

Rucked out to the field and deployed with MREs countless times. Pro tip: Strip the MREs. It’s a bunch of dead weight and wasted space for the things you know you won’t use. Especially important if it’s in your Bugout bag. Every gram counts. Stay away from the eggs. And the goulash.
Full MREs for prep purposes are fine.
