Thanks for sharing this. A couple of the songs are among my personal top-10, but the real revelation was the "Young Turks" cover. It was a great song back in the day, and I probably haven't heard it in 20 years or more, but it was given a great punk treatment by a band that I've never even heard of.
The original is one of my top-10 songs, but I would agree that it's mostly a straight cover, still nicely done, but hardly punk. I did love the very punk version of "Young Turks" though.

I'm 47 yrs old n love EVERYTHING!! lol from Springsteen and the E Street Band 1980 incredible 1/2 fun, pop classic The River album to Jay-Z's whole catalog to Morrissey to Merengue to Marc Anthony etc but without knowing it, at the heart of all the music I loved so late in life I realized if I had to pick one or two genre's it would be Pop/Power Pop and/or Punk slash Pop Punk Power Pop Punk. the formula is wat I ALWAYS craved not realizing it's the format I was always use to. for example the 3 n 1/2 minutes or less of a song. the "don't bore me, get to the chorus/the hook" the fast to mid upbeat tempo. uplifting major chords NOT depressing minor chords although I love Moz n The Smiths. The hook/chorus of the song within the first 30 seconds the Chorus verse verse middle eight then chorus heavy on chorus/hook of the song. on n on. Cheap Trick reign supreme for me BC of that. Surrender, Dream Police or I want you to want me etc like American Beatles. a hook so sugary that it is locked away forever in ur head. I heard Hungry Like The Wolf and started lookin for a punk more up to date version. Top 5 Pop song n there is a band called Ameru I think on CZcams who kills it. these albums need to be live. there is a guy name Lou something lol sorry he's Italian search Halo heavy metal cover n see that he does all his favorite song covers he plays all the instruments it's from Frog Leap studios. incredible he does Africa, Call me maybe lol n he kills it. best versions. pop to punk to heavy-metal. I strongly recommend.
