From my understand, according to the Buddhist perspective, the Act of Killing is a very heavy karma - killing or causing others to kill any living beings or causing others to kill whether they are snakes, pigs, cows, sheeps, small insects, etc....especially Killing them for our self- enjoyment , self-interest, self-earnings, for e.g, food, shelter, clothes, medicine, entertainment, sports and experiment.... the Animals/insects are governed by the Naga Kingdom (half man, half snake looking beings) , some of them can be very wealthy and powerful, and in the Buddhist scriptures, the Naga Kingdom protects many Buddhist scriptures, for e.g, the Heart Sutra...if you harm them, they can remember for very long and follow you and your family and hurt/harm you for 7 lifetimes. When your energy and good karma is strong, your karmic creditors cannot yet hurt/harm you but waiting until your energy is low and good karma weakens..... 😐
