I love that as puzzle game protagonist you're so dangerous you killed two people just by being in the same room with them.
    The journal illustrations are beautiful.

Other characters: (Slowly back away from protagonist)
The journal was great to flip through! I only wish I could keep a journal that nice looking in real life.

Never played this game, but the whole aesthetic really takes me back!

Nothing quite feels like the 90s point-and-click aesthetic. Even when remasters are released, it's not quite the same (though I'll admit that I like realMyst better than original Myst).

I like how it PC Games (France) called it better than Myst or Riven. As for point and click games. I'm currently going through Dark Seed. Still as unsettling as I remembered it.

Amerzone definitely gives off a Myst/Riven vibe, but it's definitely not Myst/Riven. It's good, but not on the level that Myst or Riven is. I haven't beaten it, but I'd argue that Schizm is closer to being on the level of Myst/Riven (which I should probably review but the puzzles in it are maddening).

@@JanelleWazStrange how a lot of these for lack of better term 'artsy' P&C games back in the day were single word sometimes misspelled. Myst, Schizm, Chaos, Syberia, Harvester. Kind of calls back to games that were released back in the 80s. You just needed a simple title to get the point across.
Speaking of these games. Did you ever play the Journeyman Project games?

I haven't played Journeyman Project, but I watched a stream of the second game. I remember seeing the antagonist thinking, "Why does she look familiar?" to find out that she was Data's girlfriend in "In Theory".

@@JanelleWaz It all folds back into Trek.

I'm more thinking the question "Why?" Why do I need to correct some old guy very poor, self-serving choices that seem to be completely unreconcilable after so long?

Journalist Protagonist: Sir, I'm just here to interview you.

As far as point and clicks go, I'm a total normie. I mainly just played Space Quest or Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego. We did have Police Quest when I was little, but that game's hard.

It's games like this that made me so aggravated that I couldn't play any of them. The items just being to hard to see made me rage quit other games like it

    • @JanelleWaz
      @JanelleWaz  Před 6 měsíci +1

Which is unfortunate because Amerzone isn't a bad game. But the items being more hidden than they should be makes it difficult.

Cursive might as well be hyroglyphs

I'm hoping the remake cleans up the cursive a little bit because I'm pretty sure it would be more legible if it was cleaner.
