- Legendary selector from Sir Coxsone Soundsystem, Blacker Dread celebrating 50 years in the music industry, with a grand event held in the historic Brixton Town Hall, with most of the old-time Coxsone crew members.
Reggae music on the night from a smorgasbord of veteran soundsystems like; Nasty Rockers, Mellows mobile, JB crew, Frontline International, Studio One, Luv Injection, and Gappy Crucial who played a tribute to the late great Jah Shaka, who passed on to Zion earlier this year.
In that light, Blacker Dread said, that maybe we should give our greats their flowers while they are still alive, instead of waiting for them to pass on to the ancestors. I totally agree…

I think everybody already knows this, and I suspect the reason why no one else mentioned Lloydies name, was because of the constant state of conflict, that never ceases to die down over nearly twenty years after their acrimonious split between the members. I don't know about you, but I think it's time to move on.

Lloydie put out an interview cussing out Blacker, Festus, and even Gappy on the same day of the dance. I wish the two of them would just stop, and let bygones be bygones. I'm not defending Blackers past, I just know that all this cussing of Festus, Blacker, and now Gappy, is not going to end well for the Coxsone brand. He cuss Rodigan, him cuss Fredlocks, him cuss the promoters of the big dance at the O2… This is what Blacker meant when he spoke of the ruin of the Coxsone legacy. I just lost what i was writing so i will repeat it again but before i explain things in clear detail sometimes when i write i do touch the right word but instead the word
next to the word i have pressed is not the word and because im being very impulsive i have not checked my spelling but now im alot calm in my mind and not rushing my words you will notice that what i say at this present time you will notice my spelling is distinctive now each person is entitled to there iwn views and opinions. What makes a soundman great is his intelligents snd his.selection when i first spoke about festus i was being impulsive thats why my words and my spelling was incorrect and yes i agree i was talking rubbish but my point was festus mentioned that shaka told the croud he would never play festus again. Now you motice shaka was the sound system he mentioned but my poinr is there is no mention of this in the comment section atleast someone would remember a time when coxsone with festus at the controls give jah shaka a musical beating but there is quite a few little menrions of shaka winning certain sound clash plus as a young man and even up to this present day and age i wanted to know which of these sound system came out on top. Iciuld say alot more but its about sound business blacker dread knew a day like this would hapoen plus he played coxsone for ten years and lloyd and festus did nit get paid in all those years i blame mr coxsone for letting blacker dread run coxsone like some gangster sound and did not speak his mind so in a way the timing was right in his mind once he saw and knew what blacker dread was up to alot of people who was there from the beginning had left the sound once blacker started playing coxsone.
