Very informative and thorough. Gosh I had no idea aquariums were so complicated. Don't know how my fish survived, but somehow they did, in spite of me!! 😄

So should you check for ammonia after ghost feeding for a week and when you see the ammonia then you add the Fritz? Then shouldn't you check for nitrites which usually come next? I'd be afraid to put a fish in if there were nitrites in there. What about adding an established sponge filter from and established aquarium on top of that? I have a betta fish that I want to transfer into a 10 gallon aquarium. The sooner the better but I don't want to risk anything.

I am sorry I just saw this comment. I use a product called Seachem Prime from day one so I can ad fish on Day 1.. I just released a video on Seachem prime to explain it all. You should check your tanks with a good test kit often. once established I check once a month to be sure.. I also watch the fish and if I see them acting funny or flashing I know theres a problem.. I do a water test.. and then a water change if needed and a dose of prime and were back to good. So sorry it took a while to answer

So is my gallon bottle of Fritz essentially useless now since I opened the cap and didn’t use all of it? :(
