The scenario is quite different. With the Iranian attack, they pre informed Turkey and other partners across the region and even released a statement right after launching these drones and missiles. This then gave Isreal and it allies enough time to put planes in the sky awaiting the attack. The distance between Iran and Isreal provided adequate time for the defender as well. Despite this, some still went through. Ukraine will not have that luxury of pre informed attacks distance to it leverage. Before those planes are airborne, the missiles have already arrived.

Shooting down missiles using fighter jets is incredibly difficult and expensive. It only worked for Israel because it was a pre-notified one time event. Otherwise, it involves combat air patrols flying 24/7 just waiting around for a target. Aircraft have limited fuel and need swapping out regularly. When they land, they need hours of maintenance before they can fly again. Ukraine simply does not have enough pledged aircraft for these types of operations. Scrambling fighters to intercept incoming missiles only works when you have good forward positioned radar warning systems giving a timely warning AND fighters positioned close enough to the front to engage the missiles in time. Ukraine cannot station fighters close to the front due to them becoming easy targets themselves and Ukraine's forward positioned radars are taken out shortly after they fire-up by Russian anti-radiation missiles and Lancet drones.

Trying to win a war by relying on profit driven manufacturers is not a good idea in the 21st century.
The Wall Street Journal (WSJ) yesterday confirmed that Israel spent $550 million to shoot down the missiles and drones that got past the Israeli, US and UK fighter jets.

The ignorance of the common person is mind blowing. They see the US and Israel shooting down slow moving drones and dumb rockets that can’t hit a specific target that are only designed to kill random civilians and they believe that the same thing can be done against Russian missiles. There is absolutely no comparison between the two scenarios. Russia has hypersonic missiles that can take out billion dollar Patriot systems with 100% accuracy. In the Middle East the US was intercepting slow moving drones and rockets over Jordan. Just exactly where could US F-16’s be used to intercept Russian missiles? Are we expecting Ukrainian pilots to fly over Russian territory in order intercept Russian missiles coming into Ukraine? How in the hell is that going to work? They’ll be shot down by anti aircraft missiles in seconds. Russia can launch missiles that fly clear to the western edge of Ukraine, make a 180 and turn back and hit the Patriot missile systems from the rear. It’s like the US capital being attacked from Nebraska. The Ukraine war is over. It’s just in the mopping up phase now. There will be no more gas or electric power in Ukraine. Why repair it? They’ll just destroy the plant again. Workers will be killed. Bridges are destroyed. Why rebuild them? They’ll just be hit again. Ukraine is not a functional country anymore. It’s a testing ground for new weapons. And it’s a money pit used by globalists to launder money back to them.

I’m not thrilled about giving money to Ukraine(especially half assed…either we fully support them or we stay hands off, both would save lives by ending things sooner), although I do not support Russia…but I absolutely hate that we are giving Israel a dime. Instead of the two being handled separately, we are given no choice but to have funding for a nation fighting for its sovereignty held hostage by funding for a “nation” hell bent on exterminating the innocent indigenous population in the most brash display of ethnic cleansing in decades. The fact that we can only have both, or neither, is disgraceful and embarrassing and shameful.

After losing some positions on the Chasiv Yar front in Donetsk Oblast, where heavy fighting has been ongoing since the beginning of 2024, the 67th Separate Mechanized Brigade of the Right Sector Ukrainian Volunteer Corps is being investigated and the military personnel who served as the brigade’s backbone are being transferred to other units. Details: According to Ukrainska Pravda, military leadership at various levels was curious about why such a motivated unit as the Right Sector was failing on this front.
Syrsky attributed Ukraine’s struggles to Russia’s greater supply of weapons and military technology. Russia’s defense industry has risen to the occasion during the conflict by churning out significant supplies of ammunition. Observers have praised the quality of Russian armaments, particularly its well-respected tank building tradition.
Syrsky also acknowledged a lack of effective manpower. Ukraine’s population, less than a third of Russia’s, has declined by some 30% amidst a demographic crisis after the country’s independence. The country faces a particular shortage of young men and women; the age of the average Ukrainian soldier is estimated to be 43 years old.

They wouldn't be.... The F-16 is literally less capable than the Ukrainian SU-27 they already had. It's pure fantasy cope. The F-16 was a good aircraft in the early 1970s... and even then from the start it was designed to be a cheap mass produced multirole aircraft, and something that could be sent to poorer countries with small air forces... Compared to the SU-27 which is a much larger more capable aircraft with a much larger radar, and was designed as a multi role air superiority aircraft and is a decade more modern than the F-16...

Its only relevancy is US internal politics. Ukraine's current situation has nothing to do with 'stalled funding' and is a direct result of their disastrous offensive. Of course thats just a downstream result of their 2022 offensive where they spent 10s of 1000s of men and armored vehicles pointlessly attacking, when they should've been fortifying. Russia built fortifications, they didnt and everyone lol'd epically about how scared Putin eas that Ukraine was going to invade and conquer Russia with their HIMARS. Now everyone is crying.

As I already wrote here. The use of the f-16 in Ukraine will only lead to desperate and unsuccessful attempts to protect these particular aircraft. And not to protect anything else with these planes. The story of the tanks is exactly the same. There are very few planes themselves, and its appearance in the sky will instantly attract maximum attention, which will not end even if the plane lands. It turns out that Ukraine will need a strong air defense cover to use the f-16. As the situation develops, the number of Ukrainian air defenses is steadily decreasing. This air defense itself is the most desirable target for Russian attacks. That is, it turns out that attempts to use the f-16 immediately endanger an expensive aircraft, with pilots who are so difficult to prepare. Their location and all the maintenance equipment, which will be quite a few there. And air defense systems trying to cover it all. The result is known initially. Given that not all Russian missiles are capable of intercepting Ukrainian air defenses, one can even guess what exactly will arrive there in the first place.
