This was written by Kirstie and Kevin. There is a behind-the-scenes video for this where Kevin's jacket from Pure Imagination makes another appearance. The gifts Kevin got the salt and pepper shakers because of a sugar salt tasting game. Scott got the book because apparently he wrote one and I don't know anything more about that. Mitch got the sunglasses because he's Mitch and Matt got the gavel because his wife just received her law degree. I believe this album has been nominated for a Grammy. I really hope they win because Matt needs a Grammy
I did that to my wife. She had been asking for a little girl Irish Setter to go with our male Irish Setter. I had her convinced we couldn't afford the extra vet bills and dog deposit on the rental house, and that we desperately needed a new vacuum cleaner. My parents picked the puppy up and hid it next door in my grandparent's cellar. Thankfully my aunt, uncle and three cousins were in from Colorado and staying with my grandparents, so it gave me the excuse to go next door. Of course I was playing with the puppy. Christmas morning all of us were in a circle going around and opening presents. When it came time for me to give Glenna hers, I told her she had to close her eyes because it was too oddly shaped to wrap. When I came in with the pup, I held it up to her. The pup licked her on her cheek, and she totally fell apart, tears streaming down her cheek and everything. Never could top that Christmas present in the 40 Christmases after that. So I'd say you should (should have?) gotten the pup for your sister if you knew she wanted one.
I glanced thru the comments and didn't see anyone mention that Kirstie was sick when this was scheduled for filming, so they added her part in later and made her the Christmas fairy. If you notice, each time she sprinkles something, the scene changes to the 'real' happenings. Very clever fix in covering for a sick member. And she looks stunning! There's a short behind the scenes where she mentions she wrote the song (I've since seen comments that Kevin helped her arrange it) and about her being sick. I love how she can put on the sexy pout and then quickly her real self smile comes out, all playful and not taking herself seriously (though she IS sexy!). I love Mitch's expression on seeing the sunglasses and trying them on; it's perfect! I love this group and enjoy your reactions to their music.
You need to find this song from this year's Christmas tour. I saw them last Wednesday. They add a third song to it. Kirstie sings 'Little Toy Trains' and Mitch takes over the 'Christmas Time is Here' lyrics.
THAT 5 people can create such a massive wall of sound is just a wonder to me every time. This is just emotional magic to me. 2nd Written by Kirstie and Kevin. So very much feeling like Christmas!! Loved it u2
I search DAILY for new Pentatonix reactions that I've not seen, & honestly it's nearly the only thing (other than PTX) that I watch anymore... However, watching the 2 of you in this double reaction is the best thing in the whole video...
💕...
Merry Christmas Y'all
🎄🌟🎁
Great reaction guys! Love the reminisces about Christmases past.
I think I have two ( maybe three) of those gifts figured out. The sunglasses may be a fun nod to how much Mitch looks like Freddie mercury...(or an Italian mob boss 😆?), Scott's book is a nod to a children's book Scott and Mark wrote and published earlier this year , and Matt's wife just passed her bar exam... thus the gavel.
There is one other video to watch from this Christmas album... Kiss From A Rose ( Seal cover)
Also, there are a few great new songs on the album that are audio only:
O Holy Night
Little Toy Trains
O Little Town of Bethlehem with Elvis Presley
Christmas ( Baby Please Come Home)
These are my 3rd & 4th favorites off their new album of the new songs and these are fantastic!! But my #1 is Kiss From A Rose, followed REALLY close by O Holy Night… I believe if there was a video for O Holy Night, it might edge ahead because it provokes so much emotion!! Hope you check both out!! Thanks for a great double reaction! Subbed!
They are magical! I can’t wait for you to react to Kiss from a rose(live vevo video) and O holy night (no video yet).
I love the Pure Imagination/ Christmas Time is Here medley!! They wove these two awesome songs together seamlessly! And most of all it was absolutely Beautiful!!
Kirstie’s Please Santa Please was fun and sounds like a classic Christmas song that’s been around for years!
Love your reactions!! 🎄♥️🎄
Absolutely love Please Santa Please! My newest favorite Christmas song for sure.
Y’all should check out PTX’s Kiss From A Rose! One of the best covers they’ve ever done.
I was the youngest of six. My mom made homemade hard tack every year. We got the extras at Christmas. Also on Dads payday we would get Shasta soda(cheaper) and Mom would make homemade pizza. It was a treat.
@Cindy - You look FANTASTIC!!!! Holy wow.
@@TouchyReactions And I TOTALLY think you should get Danielle that Australian Shepherd puppy!!!!! ❤🐕
I've seen them live here in Greenville, SC, on Monday night, oh man, it was AWESOME!
The sound of "Please Santa Please" goes back to a seminal Christmas album from 1963, A Christmas Gift for You, produced by Phil Spector in his signature "wall of sound" style and featuring several of his artists, like The Ronettes and Darlene Love. That vintage-sounding string intro, the bell sounds and the layering hark back to the tracks from that album, and the sound has been associated with Christmas arrangements ever since, copied by many artists over the years.
Do it. My parents gave me a St. Bernard puppy for Christmas when I was 13.. I'm 69 now and it's still my best Christmas memory.
Pentatonix has released a Christmas EP or album every year since 2012, but some years it's been a re-release or compilation with a few new tracks. This year it’s a compilation, "Pentatonix - The Greatest Christmas Hits", with 23 previously-released tracks and 8 new songs. The only new original song is, "Please Santa Please". The other 7 new songs are covers and so far two of those have official videos. The other five only have CZcams audios though one or more may get an official video before Christmas. The previously-released tracks may have official videos, audios, live versions, etc. The 8 new songs are -
PTX original - “Please, Santa, Please” -- has official video
Darlene Love's "Christmas (Baby, Please Come Home)"
Seal's "Kiss from a Rose" (not a Christmas song but it mentions snow 🙂) -- has official video (VEVO live)
Roger Miller's "Little Toy Trains", previously done by Glen Campbell and Randy Travis
A mashup of "Christmas Time is Here" (from the Peanuts Christmas) and “Pure Imagination” (from Willy Wonka) -- has official video
19th century Christmas standard -- “O Holy Night"; a new version, not their 2012 arrangement
Traditional African-American song, but with updated lyrics -- "Children Go Where I Send Thee"
A "collaboration" using Elvis's voice from his recording of "O Little Town of Bethlehem"
I have great hopes that "Pure Imagination/Christmas Time Is Here" will be nominated for another Grammy in the favorite category of PTX, "Best Arrangement - Instrumental or A Capella", since it's all done in 5 part harmony. While their live performance of "Kiss From a Rose" at VEVO Studios is an amazing version (hope you react to it, although it's not really a Christmas song), it's obviously not a capella, so it's going to be going up against a much larger number of competing performances than this one would be doing.
The things that struck me most about "Please Santa Please" are 1) the puppies!, and 2) Mitch's jacket actually seems to be sized normally!
PS - Matt's "mallet" is a gavel, because his wife recently passed the bar exam in CA and is now officially a lawyer. He mentioned it in his interview with Peter Barber.
I love both of these songs!! I love anything Christmas related to PTX. I recommend Kiss From A Rose from this year's album. You're A Mean One Mister Grinch, Carol Of The Bells, 12 Days Of Christmas, Mary Did You Know and Last Christmas... The PTX upgrade is incredible in those songs!!
I keep getting requests for kiss from a rose. That will be the next one we do.
@@TouchyReactions please do!!! It's one of their best upgrades... You might wanna check Creep on the mask singer first cause it inspired this version. That way you can check two videos.
@@monykasaso we've done Creep before. We also covered Creep live when we went to see them. Check out our VLOG.
There is a behind the scenes video of Please Santa Please and they have another new release Kiss From A Rose that is a must see.
Kirsty was sick when they filmed the video. They got her in as the Christmas fairy.
I don't know if this is going to duplicate. My phone's acting up. Kirstie and Kevin wrote this. There is a behind-the-scenes video where Kevin's jacket from Pure Imagination makes an appearance. The gifts Kevin got the salt and pepper shakers because of a salt sugar tasting game. Scott got the book because he wrote One. I don't know anything more about that but I would really love to read it. Mitch got the sunglasses because well he's mitch. Matt got the gavel because his wife just received her law degree. I believe this album has been nominated for a grammy. I really hope they win because Matt needs a Grammy
Nice to see both of you reacting to Pentatonix again. You were missed. Happy that you enjoyed their recent videos. They are wrapping up their Christmas tour soon. Only 3 more concerts left. Just in case you're interested, Veeps will livestream Pentatonix Orlando concert on 12-22-23. Can get a ticket to the livestream online.
Matt got the gavel because his wife just passed the bar exam to become a lawyer, Mitch got the sunglasses because he’s about style and fashion, Scott got the book because he and his partner published a book this year and I don’t know what the salt and pepper shakers for Kevin were about other than he highly seasons food.
The only thing I can figure for Matt receiving a mallet for a gift is since he is from Maryland (Baltimore?) maybe he can use it for steamed crabs? 🦀🤷♀️
I read it was a nod to his wife who just passed the bar or something like that. There’s a story behind each of the gifts, like Scott’s book because he just wrote a children’s book. Supposedly they are notoriously bad at gift giving. Not sure where commenters have gotten this information, but I’ve read it multiple times. 🤷♀️
Suggestion: Tommy Johansson just released solo version of Joy of Christmas. Beautiful song. An excerpt from Majestica's Christmas album based on A Christmas Carol (Stooge). Merry Christmas!
Hey I was beginning to think that you'd had a bad experience this summer at the PTX concert and had given up on us. I'm so glad to see you back.
4:15 Cindy, we have something in common! We both grew up in families with 7 kids. (I’m the oldest though. 2 girls, 5 boys. Never bored, that’s for sure. There was always something happening.😂)
I hadn’t come across that first song yet, so thanks for that! Great reaction. I enjoyed it very much.
The highest notes that you heard during the time all of them are singing together were actually coming from Kevin. Listen again, and you'll notice Mitch is in his lower range, when the high notes hit. That is all Kevin!!
Impressive
A lot of people think all high notes are Mitch but it's often Kevin! Even when beat boxing he'll often add a high bell tone here & there. 😉
