And I would like to see them save the cap money and roll it over to next year after we see what we have this year because we have a lot of new guys on very short contracts and maybe we want to keep some of them around for a few years or switch them up with an upgrade at the position. Definitely play Daniels in pre season, as long as you have the o line starters with him on every snap. Like you said get his feet wet. Definitely roll over cap at this point. If we see division or playoff contention then maybe spend some before the trade deadline. Of course Ertz lost a little to age but a lot of his decline is because of situation and I feel he’s in a better one here even with Kingsbury again. We are not ready to be in the playoffs this year, even with a vet T and CB, that would be injury prone/sloppy seconds. Ertz is here as a vet presence to help the youngsters learn the game.
Play him in preseason. Chemistry and connection with the offense in real game situations is better than training camp. You learn in training camp, you apply in preseason games then adjust.

The answer here is easy. Is Washington a potential contender in 2024? No. So, rolling the money over into Year 2 and making splash once we know what the 2024 draft picks and established players here already can do and how they fit in.
