That’s because he doesn’t use a flat response on his mic. He has a lot of reverb, treble, mids, resonance, and pitch correction. This is to hide his bad vocals. And I know some idiot is gonna say that this isn’t true and Tom is a good singer. Well go listen to people who were good singers, Elvis, Sinatra, dean Martin, all sang with flat response and no eq on their mic cuz they knew how to use their voice and could hit the notes and provide natural eq using their diaphragm and didn’t need to hide behind EQ and technology that wasn’t even invented yet “autotune” which is what keeps Tom’s vocals constantly shifting and shaking since he can’t hit the key and can’t stay in key smoothly. Someone like Elvis was king of keeping his vocals smooth even when he went from low to high while also changing keys. He did this all with a flat response, no dynamics on his mic. Nothing to hide behind. Not to mention absolutely zonked out of his mind on uppers and downers but still didn’t effect his performance. Face facts. Tom can’t sing. Doesn’t mean we dislike him. It just means when u compare him to a real singer, he sucks the big one.

The only thing he's got going for him is his relatively good pitch. 4. Dean Martin is a decent singer, but puts absolutely no passion or emotion into his singing.
