Wonderful video, thank you for taking the time to do this. I had this puppy installed in a great 2006 Silverado 4x4. That truck went from not having simple Bluetooth to playing John Wayne’s McClintock cruising the backroads.

Five Star Car Stereo have you ever installed this on a Ram 3500 with the factory backup camera in the mirror? I want to get the ilx-207 with the idatalink maestro, but I’m concerned I won’t be able to view the backup camera (or hear the parking assist chimes) on the Alpine rather than in the mirror.
Do u have to put a really for parking brake on this

I own this radio. This is the best sounding radio under $1k. Thanks for the unboxing video. 4 volts times three pre-outs, wired Android Auto, mechless. This solves the problems of the ILX-107.

So by wired Android Auto, you're saying you don't need to have bluetooth on to use it?

Bummer, I hate bluetooth sound quality. I wish it was just USB or even HDMI without bluetooth so I can get that quality sound without worrying on top of not draining the battery. Thanks for the reply though.

Great video! You guys made the operation of this unit easy. If you really dive into the sound adjustments it sound incredible. Also the right speakers will help I’m using Rockford Fosgate power tweeters in my front dash 6x9 front door , 6 1/2 components in rear doors. No amps ,not yet. Echo master rear view cam.

You forgot to mention this has a vehicle information section. It fully integrated with the gauges and tach on my 2011 Impala. Kind of a cool bonus.

Wow, great review. Have you guys tested the built-in mic in the front left of the unit? It would be great to not have to install the auxiliary microphone, but question its pickup and clarity.

You CAN connect 1tb SSD formatted fat32 with FLAC. I have over 800 cd's ~ 600gb on mine and growing.
How do you do it ,I got this same radio and I bought a Toshiba 1tb harddrive, put 50 gigs of music on it and it won't show up on my radio..
Looking at this unit or the 2330nex. Not interested in playing CDs, but HD radio would be nice. Mostly going to be using with android auto and the head unit interface. I drive a 2nd gen Mazda3 which should work with the Maestro RR. Any suggestions on which one I should choose? The head unit is the first thing i'm upgrading so I'm still using the stock 6 speakers.
This one will make me throw rocks at the 107.
None of these new alpine touch screens have the spacial option on the tuneit app. I wonder why that is?
I have the 149bt and turning that option off makes it sound almost mono in my car. Are there any other sound widening options on this stereo for narrow speaker placements
You guys are awsome. Can you provide a link to your video were you added an aftermarket head and retained the rear factory screen in a full size GM SUV. You guys added a video RCA to the factory wire harness to plug into video output of head unit so video would play on overhead monitor. I recently upgraded to an Android Head unit and that video would help me greatly. Thanks

What is the difference between the Alpine iLX-207 & Alpine INE-W977HD? Also Alpine's websites says the iLX-207 has 7" VGA and INE-W977HD has 7" WVGA. What's the difference between VGA and WVGA?

Hey all i bought a car with one of these installed the rear speaker isnt working, i have checked the settings and rear speaker is on, it looks like there used to be a subwoofer in the back that was removed, any help?
Alpine makes some killer head units, just wish they made some affordable options, Really wish they still made a GM/Chrysler din & half, or any manufacturer
78gagta78 These are made in Japan and are quality head units as you know. Unfortunately quality isn’t cheap.

In Europe they sale the iXL-702e46 for BMW E46 models, does Alpine sells those radio's also in the united states? The iXL-702e46 is internal is quit the same like these 207 exept for the DAB+, USA using Sirius XM.and HD radio (the numbers are the same but turned around)

I have installed the same head unit and am using its standard RCA cable for backup camera and camera selector was rear while I trigger reverse am getting a black image please help me
Quick question. Anyone using this headunit with external amps? Bypassing the internal amp? If so how are you handling the Android auto features? Like phone calls. Volume level is really low going thru the speakers. Volume output thru the radio only goes to 11. Same with all prompts and alerts. Adjusted the volume outputs to the max but still very very low.
Great videos! I am looking for the best mix of value and sound quality. Which is your best overall unit considering value v. quality? ILX-207 or DDX9903s? Or maybe another? trying to spend between $500 and $600!

What's to stop you from plugging in a fire stick or chromecast into that HDMI input and casting video to the input?
+Mike Cochran nothing other then needing some form of WiFi to connect your phone to the CromeCast of Fire stick. The WiFi is not for internet just connecting on devices to another, they don’t have that.
Mike Cochran came hear to ask that same question. You can use your phone as a hot spot for a fire stick I assume. Chromecast would need a separate router style hot spot to use your phone to cast from.
Where would be my best bet to wire the positive & negative for my backup camera? I picked up the same EchoMaster I seen you do once. I have this head unit.
I bought the same echomaster I tapped power to acc and ground it near reverse light.

I just bought the iLX-702D (the EU equivalent of the iLX-207 sold in the U.S.) but the clock doesn't show up on the upper right corner, at which now it's constantly blinking "searching for GPS". I didn't connect the GPS signal port, is there a way I can still setup and use the clock in this unit somehow? Thanks!
No it has to have the GPS ant connected to work properly

I want to replace my current Pioneer X-8850bt with iLX-207HD or X009U because I want sound quality improved.
My connection is surface Pro (music streaming platform Tidal to play tracks) -> mini DP to HDMI cable -> x8850bt -> RCA cable -> Helix DSP
On iLX207HD, I would like to use surface Pro -> mini DP to HDMI cable -> iLX207HD -> HDMI cable -> HDMI to optical cable -> HELIX DSP.
So can I do like this shown above by converting HDMI to OPTICAL? This will work?

I don't know what the sound quality of 207HD is.. I actually don't need GPS and disc player in the double din. I hope by my set up on 207 will have the same sound quality output as 009. I want to save money and I don't listen to radio often. I assume in and out by both digital will have better sound.

9929kingfish it’s the same unit. The Wra i207 is a kit that uses the ilx 207. It’s a little deceiving but when you buy it, that same ilx 207 box in the video is what you get, along with a Jeep jk bracket.
Is there a way I can contact you via email or Facebook? I'm trying to find stereos that can wirelessly mirror my android (complete mirroring...not just android auto). All I have found are the kenwood ddx9017s and 9018S which both have been discontinued and are nearly impossible to find.

Max Lezama you convert your videos to MP4 using the program called Handbrake, it's really one of the best video converters for Alpine radios

this isn't a pioneer, but when you are showing a pioneer, please demonstrate appradio with a an android as well (not just the iphone). I hear waze is a lot better on appradio for android

Hey guys...I have the i207wra version of this HU. I’m having trouble mirroring my iPhone X thru hdmi connection (using lightning hdmi adapter) the phone shows the connection, but mirroring is not happening. I called alpine and they indicated the lightning port needs USB power to enable mirroring. I tried an additional lightning cable powered by 2.1amp usb cigarette lighter adapter and had no luck. Any experience with this issue?
did you figure this out? I'm installing mine tomorrow and want to mirror my iphonel. I might get a firestick and mirror. But the firestick needs USB power as well. I wonder if you need the parking brake bypass. I'm installing the bypass

I bought one of these and like it. The only thing I don't like about it is when you use Apple Carplay I can't play hi-resolution music files from a thumb drive. Can you use a USB hub so you can switch between Apple Carplay or the thumb drive?

gsrhatch14 All of my music files are flac and Apple doesn't play flac files. And I don't have music on my work phone which is my only phone currently. I may get an Android phone for personal use and it plays flac format. I have about 7000 songs and would prefer to have only one type of file type. I did try a USB hub but it is not supported.
